Seahawks at Panthers (1 Viewer)

Worst teams in the NFL...

1. Jax

2. Clevland

3. Carolina

4. NY Jets

5. Seattle

6. Miami

My problem with Carolina is that aren't really that bad. They just can't seem to ever pull through when the game is on the line, and that has to be a coaching issue. Without looking up the exact number, I can think of at least 8 games over the past two seasons where Carolina was a play away from winning the game and they choked. It's happening over and over and it's not getting better.

The talent is there on the team, but the need a housecleaning at the top, starting with Marty Hurney.

The problem with Carolina is they won't run the ball.

Carolina has lost every game he's thrown for 300+ yards in his career (highest pass total in win = 256 yards). He's won exactly 1 game having 30 pass attempts (@home over the lowly Jags last year)

Their RBs got 10 carries for 22 yards today. Are you under the impression that they would have done better with more touches? Seattle has one of the best run defenses in the NFL. That door was getting slammed on early downs.

 I believe they unquestionably have a better chance of winning any game using their backs more (why else would you spend as much as they have allotted at that position?). And it kills clock and keeps that horrible defense off the field.

It's a catch-22. The Panthers need to run the ball effectively to win, but they aren't able to run the ball effectively.

It again goes back to coaching and play calling. There are too many gimmick plays and they are obsessed with running out of a base set of the read option, which is clearly not working. Every handoff to a running back is delayed and the defensive line has just a little bit more time to sniff it out and react. It's been five games in a row where this style of play-calling has been failing, but for some reason, Chudzinski (and by proxy, Rivera) keeps trying it.

Just spent some quality time reading the fans reactions on sbnation Carolina Panthers page. Wow, that's a depressed and desperate group. I hope all those housewives are hiding the ropes and sharp instruments. Dang.

I used to post on the biggest one, but things there are insane after a bad loss... And the Panthers always have then because they can't close anything out. We've been cursed with one of the most inspiring teams in the nfl for years now, and the current staff, from the top down, are not able to do anything to progress them.I tend to just go into a shell and stay away from those sites after a loss. At this point, I expect the worst until this team proves they can do something right. I don't see that happening until there is a major overhaul of the front office. For the fourth straight year, the season is pretty much over at our bye week. Fun times.
