Isn't the punter also a piece of #### for faking? If the game is just for fun and doesn't matter just punt it away to the other offense and let them perform for the fans. Nobody came to watch the punter run

You don't make any sense at all. Regardless of whether he would have made the first down or not, there would still be an offense on the field the next play after for the fans to watch. And I think most people would agree that fake punts/kicks are more exciting than punt and kick returns anyway.Isn't the punter also a piece of #### for faking? This is ridiculous. It was still a FOOTBALL game. If you're afraid to run the ball, then don't run it. The Punter certainly didn't seem to mind the hit, nor did anyone actually playing in the game. Why exactly should you?jerkstore laying out the punter in the Probowl.

No doubt...maybe we should just put flags around the punters waist instead. Yeah it's an exhibition game but there's nothing wrong with a clean hard hit.

I loved the hit. Taylor might be alot of different things, but a devistating hitter is one of em.

I didn't see the game...what happened after the hit? Was Taylor taken out of the game or spoken to by anyone on the sideline?
The reason I ask is that I know for a fact that John Lynch was benched a few years ago and "asked" by the someone on the sideline to turn it down a notch on the hitting.

A) Not the hardest hit he could deliver.B) I wouldn't say the punter jumped up uneffected. He layed on the ground for a few seconds, then jumped up. It's funny the amount of ST haters. Don't worry, cause ST won't ever be on your team. The skins will franchise this guy so fast it will make your head spin. He's a complete mess off the field. But on the field, he's a huge play maker. Notice in all the highlights, he's not just throwing himself at people. He wraps up constantly, and not only that, he's extremely good at stripping the ball out. He's one of the best tacklers at his position, not even considering how hard he hits. Roy Williams can't hold Taylors jock. The reason Tiki is retiring is because of Taylor. You can only get your ### handed to you so often in a year before you realize it's not worth it.And the hit took place in the PROBOWL. Those that are commending Taylor are missing the point entirely! This game has a gentleman's agreement that the players let up on both sides of the ball.
The only two who didn't get IT were T. Suggs and S. Taylor.
Do you guys really think with all of these great athletes, that there were only a couple of chances to lay the wood during the game.
Taylor and Suggs are blockheads. What satisfaction does one get from laying out the GD punter?
I'm sure those of you who liked that hit would also clamor for a pitcher to throw at someone's head during the All Star game or for someone to take a hard foul during the NBA All Star game?!

Personaly I'd much rather have everyone else in the All-Star/Pro Bowl games play a bit harder, and play show some more passion for the game. The reason all of these games have become such a joke is that they players don't play hard and just come to cash a check.

That's all fine and good until your favorite team loses a franchise player in an exhibition game. People already complain about the preseason being too long and causing too many injuries. Guys getting hurt in an exhibition game AFTER the season would be even dumber. They just should name the Pro-Bowl teams and then have competitions like longest punt, most weight lifting reps, races, etc. Nobody cares about the game and nobody would care about it if guys played harder either.

Sorry, I was a little too harsh with that. I guess I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I just can't stand people defending that hit. It was one of the dirtiest things I have seen in a while. I know it was just a punter but imagine if Sean Taylor put one of his "big hits" on Peyton Manning and he got a serious injury. Now Peyton career could be damaged because of a hit he recieved in the Pro Bowl. It's not what the game is about. The man was licking his chops when he saw the little punter running at him and he delivered the biggest hit he could at the time. What if he hit him a little lower and he broke his leg? I'll defend the hit all day long. If you strap on a helmet, you're going to get hit. When you "let up" on tackles, that is when the injuries occur. That was a good clean hit by a guy with a reputation as a dirty player. So I can understand your confusion. You pretty much summed it all up right there, Pipes. Several people have made up their minds months or years ago that they don't like Taylor and it's just that simple. I'm sure if someone like LT had run someone over in the game, these same people would be talking about how awsome a player he was or what a great competitor or some other silly angle. The hit was clean, the players on the field and even the player who took it all had no problem with it. Clean hits are part of football, even the Pro Bowl. GB the holier than thou message board critiques.

If that's not what the game is about then maybe these other players you like defending so much should consider getting out of bounds or sliding down to avoid the hits in the 1st place. Oh wait, I'm guessing this approach of taking it easy only applies when the player is on defense and a guy you don't already like....

That's just plain ignorant, and insulting to those HOF'ers. Taylor is by no means the best at his position current day, let alone all-time like the guys you bring in here. He gets way too many 15 yd penalities chasing the big hits, which extend drives and give the opponents better field position. He isn't exactly the best in coverage either.
