Season is over now what? (1 Viewer)

I won the championship today, so our league season is over. I still have Turner and Bryant tomorrow night but my opponent is done. I've put my heart and soul into this and wondering what the heck I'm going to do now? All the hours of strategizing, studying stats, studying matchups, searching the waivers and reading every article I could find and now it's over. Say it ain't so! :lmao:

Stocks. Same type of analysis, articles, numbers, predictions, wins and losses, real-time results on the internet/TV...Just means a heck of a lot more when you lose.

Enjoy it and take the next 6 months off before I start worrying about it any more. I can't get into it until July at the earliest. Never have gotten into getting all hyped up in April or May like some do and I probably never will. I'll buy Fantasy Football index, do a few mock drafts during the summer and then go from there. Seems to have worked out well for me the past few years, so don't see a need to change anything.

Congrats to all the league champs.

If anyone could point me in the right direction of parlaying my love of FF into stocks I would be greatly appreciative.

I seem to do most of my analyst of FF through game watching, discussion with other FF folks and evaluation of talent + opportunity.

I rarely sit down and punch up numbers. I quit doing projections 3 years ago - its just too volatile. Now i sit back and compare players to players (ie I like CJ2K better than Ahmad Bradshaw). I never sit back and say Player X is a lock for 10 TD's and if Player Y is lucky he may get 10 (maybe subconsiously I do but I try not to).

My guess is this is not a great way to get into stocks.

I always tell my leagues to enjoy the "real" playoffs and college bowl games. Remember for the most part you are playing fantasy football because you like football.

Timely topic. I still have to wait the outcome of Roddy vs Maclin to decide our championship but have been thinking of diving into the stock game after the season is over.

Will I invest my 401k in wheat pennies next month? I dont think so, but I am very interested to learn about the futures markets and how they work over the summer. Promised the missus I would spend some of that time and brainpower to an endeavor that might pay off a little better.

I'm frugal by nature but enjoy finding opportunities. And that's mostly what we do here. Lord knows, if I read 30 hrs a week on that topic like I do here I've gotta learn something.

I guess I'll turn my attention to those fantasy basketball teams I've been neglecting and think about football keepers for next year.

After celebrating my 2 championships and a nice payday, I told my wife that I won and she was thrilled that it was over. Not impressed by the money. Maybe next year, I need to go into big money leagues. That will impress her! :goodposting:

Seriously, I need to take a break from all of this. Let the win soak in, but let it go. Time to going back to being a good hubby, and stop agonizing over charts and projections.

I do all my post-season final rankings and charts (so that my opinions on players are locked-in when I begin stuff for 2011 in the summer) as well as league wrap-ups. I am gathering interest in a 25-man roster, 15 keeper to start in 2011, so I will be getting the league together for the opening draft in 2011 as well.
