Seattle at Houston (1 Viewer)

Serious question: was that a late hit or unnecessary roughness on the "penalty" on the tackle on Baldwin?
It was "illegal tackling". You're only allowed to do two-hand touch in today's NFL.
That is what I was wondering. If it was a late hit, good call. It it was unnecessary roughness, awful call, considering Baldwin could have easily broken free and ran for the first down. That is why I was wondering which it was.
The whistle had blown so he couldn't have gained any yards. The way the announcer was talking, lifting up a player like that is a flag no matter what. Not sure that's correct, but in this case the whistle had blown.
I don't think the announcer was correct, unless tackling too hard is really a penalty now. I will just assume the whistle had blown and it was a late hit.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was because the whistle had blown. All I know is Baldwin was still fighting...as a defender you have to put him on the ground. What a bull#### way to lose a game.

It was the lifting up part that was pertinent. I could see that being a penalty and it has nothing to do with tackling too hard.

I'm actually really looking forward to seeing how the Hawks respond in the 2nd half. Down a lot, playing poorly, on the road, against a good team. This will tell us something about where the team is right now.
Welp, that was better than I expected. Winning after being down 17 at half against a good team on the road in a 10am start isn't something we're used to around here.

Just saw part of Watt's post game locker room interview. Nasty gash at the base of his nose, blood splattered on his face, smeared eyeblack all over, pure hate in his eyes... I wouldn't want to be a reporter trying to dig sound bytes out of him. That guy's going to add more MVP awards, maybe even league overall, and if he makes a SB, he'd be my pregame pick. I really hope there's no PEDs involved, he's the type of natural Tazmanian Devil I like to see in the league, just not against my team.

I would have loved to seen Breno pissing him off.

Not me. That would be like poking a tiger that's full of bees.

Well, that's not entirely accurate. It did have something to do with the loss. There were about a dozen things that could have prevented that from even being pertinent, but yes, that bull**** penalty did directly contribute to the loss. As did the bull**** penalty for running parallel to the sideline on the kick return in OT which effectively moved Seattle from their own 5 to their own 30.

But it never should have come to that. Kubiak, as always, took his foot off the gas. We punted 6 of our last 8 possessions. I've never seen a coach go so prematurely conservative. Maybe Marty? I dunno. Either way, Kubiak is to blame here. And Schaub shares some of that blame. Homeboy never throws past the sticks on third down. That in and of itself is sad, but if you are going to be a p**** then you should not get intercepted. That's why you throw it short - to be safe. Inexcusable all the way around.

One contributing factor that had nothing to do with BS penalties or QB/coach shortcomings was the loss of Cushing in the second half. That had a huge impact on things.

All in all, I wish we'd never extended Schaub and tried to trade for Rivers. I know how impossible that is in reality, but Andre Johnson would finally put up that 15 TD season we all know he's capable of instead of constantly waiting for Schaub's weak arm throws to get to him so he's got to fight off a tackle just to get some YAC. If AJ ever had a QB who could lead him, people would talk about him like they talk about Calvin.

:violin: Guess there wasn't any calls that went in the favor of the Texans all game. Im also sure the loss of 2 Pro Bowl Oline guys, Bennett, Irvin, Harvin were meaningless. Starting a 7th round rookie against Watt.... meh. Clem playing his first full game....nah....meaningless. Teams that win the turnover battle win games.

ETA: The penalties you mentioned WERE legit and would be called any game any time. Hawks went into the Texans house, smashed them in their face (evident by Watts bloody face), and then Pete skipped like a little fairy all over your field after the win in his Khaki's. Chewed his gum like a mountain goat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2OcF8JE4hc

Um yeah, the Texans were missing a pro bowl lineman, too.

And the announcers even admitted the running parallel to the sideline call was suspicious. The guy was forced out and took a loop to get back in. It was bull****. Drastically changed field position for the Seahawks.

And no, the Hawks didn't smash anything. They got smashed and then Kubiak/Schaub gave the game away in typical fashion.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Seahawks - Lynch is one of my favorite RBs to watch, I can't help but root for short QBs, and I'm pulling for Rice to overcome his injury riddled past - but yesterday the Hawks got outplayed badly and were given a gift by Schaub, Kubiak, and the officials. All in all, nothing to be bragging about if you are a Seahawks fan.

I thought the Texan fans in general were very classy with the way they handled the Bennett injury. However, the ones on this board are full of whine.

GG, I guess.

If that means winning, then yes we are.

Surprisingly, no, that's not what it means.

You do realize that you are an embarrassment to your fellow Seahawks fans, right?

You probably cause people to root against your team by being such a tool.

I'll let karma do its thing. I like Seattle as a team. If they go to the championship, Im sure the amount of douchebaggitry on this board will be epic. If they choke it out down the stretch, these vocal fans will be no where to be found. Its basically like tolerating cowboy fans in Texas.
