I know he came back in the game on Sunday but does anyone have any status on him? Absolutely nothing on FBG news blogger so I assume it is ok?
Last I saw Carroll said Hass was probably playing on Sunday. I probably won't need him for Sunday but he has some nice matchups coming up esp in the playoffs.Pretty sure it was just a bruised knee and yes he did come back into the game. Don't think you'll have much to worry about other than some soreness.Of course you may want to worry that Hasselbeck may not play this week and the Giants have a ridiculous pass rush.
I would hope to see Whitehurst play instead of Hasselbeck. I'm not sure what has happened to Matt, but the guy is not the same or even close. I would understand if he degenerated physically, but it is not just that, mentally he looks like a much weaker player. Making horrible decisions, holding on to the ball for 7 seconds and having 5 sacks be his fault in 1 game, etc.Give Whitehurst a chance and see what happens.Even if Hass starts, I would put money on Whitehurst having to come in at some point during the game. Hass is starting to get banged up and this is not the defense a QB who is banged up wants to play against.
I am; I just traded him for Sidney Rice.I hate this matchup plus the news reports about the thigh/knee, plus he's had 2 superb games but then little else. And is Whitehurst coming in for on the job training?Anyone concerned with BMW's prospects moving forward after this game, injury or not? NYG D is fresh off a bye and they have knocked out QBs for an extended period of time in their past 2 games. Hass is already injured and the Giants can make that much worse. What should we expect with Whitehurst as QB for the next few weeks or more?
He's injured. Rookie qb. vs above avg defense and pass rush especially.CrossEyed said:So why does he not even show up in Bloom's ranking s this week?
Whitehurst is not a rookie, he's a 5th (I think) year veteran. He's never played a down in a regular season game though. He's injured. Rookie qb. vs above avg defense and pass rush especially.CrossEyed said:So why does he not even show up in Bloom's ranking s this week?
ok guy who has never played an nfl game. whatever.Whitehurst is not a rookie, he's a 5th (I think) year veteran. He's never played a down in a regular season game though. He's injured. Pretty significant difference actually.ok guy who has never played an nfl game. whatever.Whitehurst is not a rookie, he's a 5th (I think) year veteran. He's never played a down in a regular season game though. He's injured. Yes, but which is better? Rookie qb's are getting their first shots, but if you've been in the league for five years and never started a game that also says something...Pretty significant difference actually.ok guy who has never played an nfl game. whatever.Whitehurst is not a rookie, he's a 5th (I think) year veteran. He's never played a down in a regular season game though. He's injured. What does it say? That Rivers has taken every snap of every game over the past five years?...if you've been in the league for five years and never started a game that also says something...
I can see it both ways. But it isn't like Whitehurst was behind Alex Smith or Brady Quinn. He was behind Phillip Rivers. So in this case I don't think we can read anything one way or the other. Of course Matt Hasselbach kept him on the bench as well, but while Hass isn't in Rivers' class, he's not exactly Derek Anderson either. What does it say?
