Second group of wr's (3rd to 4th round) (1 Viewer)

How do you guys rank the 2nd group of wr's. The guys just below the top tier of playmakers. These are the guys very capable of being your #1 and can be had in the 3rd and 4th rounds. Currently I have them ranked:

Walker-Complete year of rehabilitation on the knee, and a year in the Denver system. I am concerned about Cutler a little, as well as the effect the Williams shooting has on him, but of this group, I feel he is the most talented and has the most upside.

Boldin-The guy is a catch machine but is a #2 to Fitz. Quite honestly both these guys scare me a little with a supposed focus on the running game, new coaching staff, and Leinart at qb, but I can't see myself passing on him if he is there.

Housh-A #1 wr in a #2's body. He continues to improve, has one of the best qb's in the game throwing the ball to him, and doesn't have to contend with the #1 db's (thanks to CJ), or Henry stealing td's for the first half of the year.

Driver-Mr. Consistency. The young wr's opposite him concern me a little, as does the question marks at rb, but this guy just produces.

Evans-Big play Lee. Really like this guys ability to score at any moment, however they have a tough schedule, rookie rb, and Evans tends to produce in all or nothing scenarios.

Colston-I am just not sold on this guy yet. Yes, he has a good year last year but really only had a few big games and then got hurt. I am pretty leery of taking him so high.

Moss-Just not going there this year unless he falls to the 5th. Probably has more upside than almost everyone on the list, but the downside is well documented.

For some reason, this is my favorite subject this year - the 3rd/4th round WRs. :goodposting:

Assuming PPR

Lee Evans

Roy Williams

T.J. Houshmandzadeh

Javon Walker

Marques Colston

Donald Driver

Anquan Boldin

Andre Johnson

Randy Moss

Forgot Johnson, although I have him a step below this group. I am not a fan.

I think Williams is a step above.

Agree that this is definitely a great topic, as there is so much disparity in some rankings and projections with this group, and a noticeable tier drop-off after, with guys like A. Johnson (I'd also put him below), Burress, & Ward a tier below. Personally I have them as follows:

Housh

R. Williams

Walker

Evans

Driver

Boldin

Colston

Moss

Lee Evans

Roy Williams

Javon Walker

Marques Colston

T.J. Houshmandzadeh

Donald Driver

Anquan Boldin

Andre Johnson

Randy Moss

Actually quite similar to others... except I have Housh down quite a bit. Last year was a career year for him and I just don't have a great feeling about him this year.

Evans

Moss

Williams

Colston

Driver

Housh

Walker

Boldin

Johnson
Really? He's already hurt and I don't see the Patriots changing their M/O of spreading it around, especially since Welker and Stallworth are better than what they had last year.
Moss is the type of WR that doesn't require many targets to produce results. The occasional deep ball or fade in the end zone are all he needs to be a fantasy impact. The injury is the concern.

I'll probably be staring at this group when my turn comes up in the 4th. I'm struggling with the Top 2, but I think my list will shake out like this:

Housh

J. Walker

Evans

Boldin

Colston

I'd really like to see more discussion about Housh. He obviously has the best QB of this group. There will be no Chris Henry for the first 8 weeks to vulture TDs. I'm not sure what would keep him from equaling or surpassing last year's numbers.

 I can easily see Moss being their primary redzone threat. Stallworth is useless in that area and Welker is a liability down there because of his size. Moss OTOH represents a big target who still has above average leaping ability, Brady will exploit that advantage regularly.Moss may not catch 80 balls but he seems like a good bet for double digit TDs.

Am I the only one with Larry Fitzgerald in this tier? I would not draft him higher than this.
You're not alone, but I'm not among your number. I think Fitz is the better red zone option of the two (Boldin) and is at the bottom of the first tier yet still ahead of the names we're discussing here.

With the situation as it is in new York (Giants), would Burress still be in the tier above or does he fall here now?
