Sell high: Dump Ronnie Brown after this week? (1 Viewer)

What will you Ronnie Brown owners be doing after this week? He is pretty much guaranteed to have a great outing vs. Cleveland this week. Have you looked at Miamis schedule during Fantasy playoff time? If you haven't it looks something like this:

Week 14: Bills -

Week 15: Ravens - ;)

Week 16: Patriots -

I think his great matchups will be behind him for the most part after this week. How fortunate were we to have 4 easy rushing matchups 4 weeks in a row?!

Sell high time?

I feel like the rules or matchups tend to be diminished a bit when the RB is also a thread out of the back field. His numbers will go down but unload him? For who? Westy? Ok go for it...who else at this point do you want besides Westy and LT? I dont get it...

On the money. Ronnie will score fairly well even against the tough defenses because of his pass-catching ability. I'd hold, especially in a PPR.

His schedule is tough, but never over analyze. These points are spot on, he will get his catches and he will continue to perform. Keep Ronnie!!

I agree with the OP here.

Basically, in my opinion, Ronnie Brown is the perfect back to pry LJ and a nice WR from a disgruntled owner.

You gotta make the playoffs before you can worry about the playoffs. Ronnie Brown certainly helps you get there. Unless you can trade him for LT or Westbrook like the guy said I'd hold on.

Already done  (although I did it two weeks ago when there was still hope for LJ and RB had only one good week under his belt, so it cost me a draft pick and I didn't get a WR)

There are some cases where it might make sense to maximize value and sell high on Ronnie...

-Contract leagues. In some leagues where players are signed to 3 year contracts, depending on other roster needs, it might make sense to trade Brown in a deal that includes of the likes of a Bush/ADP/Lynch, or an underperforming Vet + higher end WR.

-Salary cap leagues. similar to above where Brown's salary may be going up for next year, which may cause difficulty in keeping other desired players..

-Other team needs. With all of the injuries this year at WR/QB it might make sense to move Ronnie for a slightly lesser RB and shore up at WR/QB.

Really depends on individual team needs, but I would only trade Brown if I am getting VERY GOOD Value back.

If you are thinking about tradin Ronnie now, I'd have to ask if you had watched him ANY this year?

He is running with determination and Cam is feeding him early and often. Even if Miami is down 21 points and forced to pass, Ronnie is involved.

I'll take Ronnie over any back but LT right now.

There's also this theory that you "always start your studs". Ronnie is a stud. Start him every week.

Of course he's going to have a down week here and there, but there will be more good times than bad.

Cleo Lemon has no negative effect on Ronnie. In fact, he may turn out to be more of a passing threat than Trent was. Trent wasn't mobile and couldn't by time. Cleo will be able to scramble and throw the ball down field.

Bump Chambers back up to his week 3 value. He'll be more involved again.

Not to mention the "Cleo Lemon factor"
I was wondering the same thing... then I did some research on last week's game. Here's Ronnie's game log play by play. Quite a lot of touches after Trent Green's exit. Brown is a workhorse so far this season. It likely won't matter who's at QB.

I tried to pry away Larry Johnson and Jerricho for Ronnie Brown - and was countered with an offer for LJ and Cotch for Ronnie Brown and Braylon Edwards!I'll let him sit on another few weeks of 20 carries for 20 yards.

I think that trade stinks, but if you really want LJ and Cotchery got get them. Why in the world would you want to trade for them if you think LJ is going to have a few more weeks of 20 for 20. I do not see the rationaliztion of trading for that type of production if you really feel it is going to happen.

While I agree with the Bills and Ravens assessment, the Patriots will probably have home field wrapped up by then and will be resting alot of players on Defense and Offense.

The only thing that matters is making the playoffs, and having big performances once you get there. Maybe he's 5-0 and has no fear of missing the playoffs, LJ could be huge for him while Ronnie is running against top defenses.

I disagree about the Chambers bit...at least until Beck gets in. Barring a dominant couple games out of Cleo, that should happen in Week 10 or so.It might sound ridiculous, but I'm grabbing Beck in every league I'm in right now.

Ronnie Brown is currently the #1 RB in my league using YTD points. Unreal considering the guy did nothing the first two weeks because Cameron had him splitting carries with a career backup. I'd say he's a solid "hold" at this point in dynasty leagues. Cameron get's that Brown is the best option for the Dolphins now and going forward. In hindsight, he was a terrific buy low player after the first two weeks.

That's when I traded from 'em... Gave up Jamal, Tatum and Rex Grossman... Does it get any better?
