Send A.Foster to the bench week11? (1 Viewer)

Right now is a crucial time to get every FP possible in matchups. Foster has been a STUD no doubt and this isnt even close an idea for teams without other decent rb options or stronger flex plays. But really im thinking i might let Foster take the day off facing the Jets. I hear others asking should AJ sit versus Revis but im thinking the Texans will be down as usual with there sorry-ssa and be forced to pass to play catchup.

Without this turning into a AC thread i think i have decent options other than Foster this week.

Anyone else considering this this week. Playoff spots are ON THE LINE and im trying to get every adv i can.

I have a doubleheader this week, and a lot on the line. Don't like Foster against the Jets or Peyton against the Pats, but I'm gonna play them both. Jets have shown plenty of cracks on D, and he is such a threat out of the backfield that I think he's impossible to bench.

Im trading him this week for Jamal Charles and Larry Fitz. If you look at his schedule he has a tough next 6 games. Our playoffs start next week so that is definitely influencing my actions. Selling high may be a bit balsy but could be worth the risk.

One stat worth remembering. The only top 10 D he has played all year has been the Giants and he got stoned pretty bad in that game,

I am downgrading Foster this week from the #1 fantasy RB all the way down to the #4 fantasy RB. (Behind Frank Gore, Chris Johnson, and Adrian Peterson.)

Or in your case, a stat worth misremembering since it was only last week that Foster went off on the Chargers' second-ranked D to the tune of 197 total yards and two scores.

Not a bad trade...While the Texans might lose the next 6 games (hope not...), I think Foster is a must-start at this point... unless you play in a 4-team league...

That is not the Jets MO. It will be a close game.

19 for 82 rushing, 4 for 27 receiving and a TD. Those are Peyton Hillis numbers from last week...just sayin
 If he finds the end zone he's already startable, and you know that they'll feed him and he'll get yards. I could easily see a 20/65/1 4/25 kind of day out of him, which is just fine for a stud's "bad week". And of course he could be far better than that.

Yeah, gotta temper the expectations but, especially in PPR, you gotta go with him because if nothing else he could easily end up with 5-6 catches.

I'm leery of the Jets too but I'm hoping for the handful of catches and one or two runs where the aggressive Jets over pursue and he cuts back on them and breaks a few long runs. If I can get the catches, 60 or so on the ground and a TD somehow, that's still a total you take on any week.

I'm more concerned about AJ's trip to Revis Island.

Meh, He will stay in my line up as he is the top FF RB right now on a good offense. It helps I just clinched div title and will not play a meaningful game until week 15.

I would definitely start Foster. On the ground his numbers might be more pedestrian, but the Jets have struggled against screens and passes to backs in general this season. I'd expect him to get 100 yards from scrimmage with a decent chance of a TD. I doubt there are too many owners with a more reliable option on the bench.

Benching him for Hillis, as the Jacksonville matchup is far, far more enticing.

Would anyone be talkin' like this about AP or CJ2K? I still think people are forgetting that he's the TOP RUSHER IN THE LEAGUE.And he gets a lot of looks in the passing game even when they are behind.

I'm not sure if you're talking in general or to me specifically, but Hillis is a Top-5 back in every league I'm in. I think that implying it's a no-brainer to start Foster against a shutdown run defense over Hillis against a very exploitable run defense, is oversimplifying things a bit. The last time Foster faced an imposing run defense (the Giants), he went 11-25. Bench Foster for just anyone? Of course not. But for other Top-5 or -7 backs? I think it's unwise to not consider it.

Tough matchup in a crucial week for many owners, me included (need to win to make next week's game the battle for first place). I have Andre AND Foster against these damn Jets. Im playing both, but with shaky confidence. Best and Hillis have had 9 catches combined vs the jets last two weeks, so in a ppr foster can get 7-9 points just on catches and receiving yards. If the Jets blow the Texans off the line, it can be a tough day running for Foster, but with such limited touches last week, I think Kubiak corrects that and gives him 20+ this week. He's also one of the best bets every week for a touchdown, so there is no way he will find my bench. I do hope he has a great game tho, 4.0+ypc and 100+total yards and 1+ td's, for my team's needs and for the fact all the remaining Foster doubters would finally have to shut up.

I'm seriously considering benching him because my I have Hillis, Ray rice, Blount, Lloyd, Jennings, Desean, and Amendola in a return league. Suffice it to say, it's a good problem to have.

I think that we need to take a closer look at the Play-by-Play in the NY Giants game.

Foster only had a poor showing because Kubiak screwed the pooch and started the game off with 9 out of the first 13 Offensive plays as passes; only 3 completions to boot. No imagination, no balance and no execution. They quickly found themselves behind 21-0 due to this ...

Doh! ;)

I have made the choice for myself from here on out, traded away all depth for optimal lineup and will make NO non injury changes the rest of the way.

And Andre Johnson going against Revis? Oh well I'm starting him. I don't like getting cute and benching proven players for flavor of the week.

I think the percentages of studs performing at least well vs. tough matchups is much better than plugging in average players with good matchups and having them do anything more than average.

This is all I need to know not to bench a guy like Foster who has been nothing short of great this year. Ride your horses guys. Houston runs the ball a ton and will try to do the same against the Jets.Yeah it is tempting to bench him for a match-up play. I have best and Felix Jones on the bench at RB and James Jones and Colston at WR (we start 2RB/2WR and a flexRB/WR).Sticking with Foster, MJD and Bradshaw for my three big horses and Mike Williams (TB) and Roddy for my WR's.

I really wasn't talking about Foster vs. Hillis in particular. Can you start both? I guess if you have Hillis/Foster/AP or something like that it makes more sense. Most teams who start 2 RB's won't have 2 other RB's who would start over Foster, even during a tough matchup.

Dont ever doubt Foster!

No doubt...and thanks to Mike Williams DUI I got spooked and put Colston back in the lineup this morning. Whew!!!

It is simply dumbfounding that people continue to think about sitting Foster. This guy has proved over and over again that he deserves our respect. What else does he have to do to officially be given the "match up proof" label? :(

This guy is Priest Holmes 2.0 and people bench him? LMAO
It sucks being a Texans fan but at least we have Foster to marvel at. So glad I scooped him up in all my keeper leagues. Start him with confidence on the reg. Benching Arian is like sitting a big name player like CJ,AD,MJD, etc....Foster is an elite back without the sexy name/pr.

So much crow needs to be eaten. My goodness. Not for owners that benched him but for those that continued to doubt him leading up to this week. Just ridiculous.

Just keep putting him in that lineup folks.

There were a couple of lessons worth remembering/learning here.1) Foster's ability to catch makes him a starter every week, regardless.2) the NBYS theory, like all good theories, has an exception to the rule.

How about those thinking Gores juicy matchup against the 30th ranked run defense would result in a monster game?

Point is...matchups for the most part are overrated. There were a few that stuck out like a sore thumb....eg McFadden vs the Steelers. That was easy to spot. The Steelers are a dominant team and speed is their MO, McFadden needs the outside and space to operate, Pitt does not provide that. You need to be a banger to have consistent success against the Steelers.

So sometimes it does work....most of the time is does not.

Start your studs and just enjoy the games. When you overthink.....you lose.
