GRIDIRON ASSASSIN

Footballguy
How do you top this as an NFL day.

Superstar player attempts to commit suicide, and then we learn he allegedly didn't.

Superstar player has cracked bone allegedly 'healed' by the Lord, and then we learn he didn't.

Good stuff!

Come on people...there is no evidence to suggest he attempted to commit suicide. Took too many pills? fine.

A guy who has honestly just tried to kill himself or appeared to have tried does not go to practice the next day and get ready to play football on Sunday...and then appear totally coherent at his press conference...that afternoon. "bottle of pills"...come on. 4-8 pills...maybe, and who really cares.

Suicide... :lmao:

"Media" you say? Now we have something to talk about. People need to back off this guy...imagine, just for a second, what would happen if TO got a DUI? Now think of any other player and ask yourself...what would the difference be and is that really fair?

I'm cheering for TO, and hope one day people can just talk about his football talents, which thanks to the 15 min. T.V. specials on his career I got to see tonight, remind mind me of how truly ####ed up this whole thing is. The guy plays football.

(by the way, suggesting that this was all because he wanted attention (media attention), is borderline ignorant)

I disagree completely. I think it was a half-hearted, very lame attempt at suicide, and now TO feels ridiculous and is just too embarrassed to admit it. And there is no reason he wouldn't be able to practice the next day, since the suicide attempt just involved pills, which will obviously be out of his system by tomorrow.Painkillers mixed with the always-popular "supplements" defense? Please. The only reason I sorta-kinda agree with you that it wasn't a suicide attempt is because TO wasn't seriously trying to kill himself - he just wanted it to look that way so he'd become a sympathetic figure and get some more attention.

and somehow the news that Tatum Bell is the fulltime back in Denver went nearly unnoticed. Perhaps there is still time to steal him in a trade. I have been trying.

Yes, this was the week the media bent over and shoved their collective heads up their own arses. Reporting rumors over news: TO's suicide attempt? A player is healed by prayer? Leinart? Warner? Do they get sick of having to correc themselves?

After this sunday's games, I will most likely have forgotten about yesterday never to be remembered again.

Of course not, it's just more copy! Instead of saying they were wrong, it's "A SHOCKING update " or "The team did a dramatic 180!" or "Stay tuned as we get new information relating to this developing story!"They've got over 10,000 minutes to fill every week, and only so much of it can go to commercials.
