This is a simple draft-only dynasty contest for (and a challenge to) my fellow off-season draft geeks. You think you can spot talent?
Pick up to 10 players drafted in this year's NFL draft and use the values in post two (from the NFL draft pick chart) to value each player. The total points value for your players can't exceed 3000 points. 7th rounders don't count against the points total. (The average value of picks from the 1st to 6th round is ~300, and the #1 pick by itself is 3000 points).
At the end of each year standings will be scored using year-end VBD values only, with the zero baseline set at the 16th QB, 31st RB, 31st WR and 16th TE. If your guys fail to reach this threshold they're scored as a zero.
VBD is cumulative - you get credit for all VBD your players put up, regardless of position. You can pick five QBs if that's where you think the talent is. Rosters carry from year to year - if you play for 10 years you'll have as many as 100 players on your roster.
Bragging rights will be awarded on an annual basis for the leading VBD total for each draft class, as well as cumulative VBD to date.
This setup isn't about trading, it's not about finding role players on the WW, it's not about what draft picks you have when the rookie draft rolls around, or your roster needs. It's about how well you spot top talent and relative value.
Submissions must be finalized by May 30th. Any edits to your selections after that date will void your entry.
ETA - post your entry here. Too much record keeping to do it by e-mail.
