SFL rookie draft underway. (1 Viewer)

Rolle went too high. No way he should go before Davis. Not sure I'm drinking the Ware Kool-Aid. Seems a bit high for me. If it was me, I would have gone Gore at 1.11.
That's what I said. And that owner has Kevan Barlow too...seemed like an easy move to grab Gore there, but I guess he figured otherwise.

Updated.I went with Marlin Jackson. Considered several guys here. Felt he was a safe pick who will contribute soon.

I liked all your picks with the exception of Pollack. Pollack's tackle numbers will not be high enough and his sack numbers will be too inconsistent to justify starting him weekly at LB. I highly doubt any reputable FF site will code him as a DE.

Draft moving along quickly for once. Lots of guys I considered at 3.14 but felt good going with Tuck, who will be an impact player at some point.Overall, I'm not surprised by many of the IDP picks. Rolle over Davis sticks out.

Draft is into the last few rounds. I haven't picked since early 4th so I haven't been checkin in much.My haul:1.04 - JJ Arrington2.04 - Barrett Ruud2.12 - Erasmus James (traded 2.09 and 4th next year for 2.12 and 3rd next year)3.04 - David Pollack3.10 - Marlin Jackson3.14 - Justin Tuck4.04 - Oshimogho AtoqweFeel good for the most part. I thought this draft was weak as far as offensive players go so I focused on bringing in some good IDP talent. Hearing lots of good things about Thurman and I passed him up at 2.09. Wanted to snatch up Tatupu at some point but never pulled the trigger (maybe him instead of Pollack). We'll see what we'll see.

I like Benson, Bullocks (who I was looking at at 3.04), Johnson, and Washington. I'm lukewarm on the Spears pick. Don't like the Jones pick at all.

That's funny because I was actually considering Pollack at 3.03 instead :) If I knew I could have had him as a DE I would have taken him, but the prospect of him being a LB is too great. With the Spears pick I figured there wasn't any other DE left that I felt very good about, and I needed to add one.

I'm actually pretty excited about having Matt Jones after everything I've read about him. I doubt he would have fallen to me in the next round and the other 1st round WRs were all gone in the first 10 picks. I guess we'll see!

Jones was a good value there who had been going much earlier than that in most of the drafts I've seen. I was tempted to take him at 2.01 but felt that Moats was a better fit for my team with its shaky RB situation. I agree with you on Spears as he landed in a bad situation as a 3-4 DE and I'm not keen on Travis Johnson after he went to a 3-4 as well.In this draft, guys like the two of you focusing on IDP's has allowed me to get a lot of value on the offensive side where my team was the weakest.

1.01 Caddy Williams

2.01 Ryan Moats

2.06 Adrian McPherson

2.14 Crowder

2.16 Reggie Brown

3.15 Chris Henry

4.15 Courtney Roby

5.01 Andrew Walter

5.16 Jonathan Babineaux

Knowing how far the offensive talent slipped in this draft, I now know I could have gotten McPherson later and upgraded Crowder to Thurman, but this draft has gone a lot differently than the past drafts that I looked through for this league. Shaun Cody went one pick before my 4.15 so I had to settle for Babineaux but I had him rated higher than some DT's that went higher.

Yeah, but my thinking was they must obviously be talented and I'm probably not going to compete this year since I'm taking over a 4-9 team, so I can grab some NFL 1st round talent late in the draft and hope their teams alter their defensive philosophy down the road.I really like your Reggie Brown pick

The dude is a wildcard and got injured on his first day. He was out for a month. I got no problem with people rolling the dice on this guy but no way do I take him over the top IDPs.

The fact that there wasn't much on the offensive side is what led me to focus on IDPs. Time will tell.

I'd like to think that's what helped him fall to me in the 2nd round. He's no Fred Taylor yet.Maybe it's just that I don't know IDP that well yet, but I also considered WR a greater area of need for my team than the defensive positions. I'm looking to get younger and Ward and Mason won't cut it.

True, I had not considered your team needs. :bag:
