SFO: RB Matt Breida v RB Alfred Morris - which to OWN? (1 Viewer)

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pDG7au8kvnI

how anyone could watch this and think morris is the back to own here amazes me?? Brieda is really nice

Kind of proves my point? Morris couldn’t muster a single 10 yard run on 16 attempts. Brieda had 5
Well not really. Morris had multiple 5+ yard carries as well as two 16 yard receptions. His YPC is artificially low because he received 4 carries with under 3 minutes in the gaame when the Niners were trying to kill the clock.

Breida looked good, no doubt but so did Morris.

We know Shanahan is not afraid of somewhat diminutive guys as his workhorse as well of his penchant for RBBC hot hands. His time with Washington and Atlanta and Cleveland kind of speaks to that. If Breida is more effective, he'll get plenty of work.

If the carries continue to be split about evenly, the answer to "which to own" is "neither".
Personally, I think it's "both". Neither will be RB1s, obviously, but unchallenged three-down backs are a dying breed. Much more common is the even split. We're seeing it this year in places like Tenn, NYJ and Washington.

The real question is whether we'll have any insight before the games start as to whether it's going to be a "Breida game" or a "Morris game". So far, I got nothing.

But I do own Breida and am planning on starting him at flex this week over Crowell, Enunwa and John Brown. I figure if a guy is leading the league in rushing, he should be in my lineup.
