Shark Pool Mock Draft 2011 - 4 Rounds (1 Viewer)

With the 14th pick in the 3rd round of the 2011 NFL Draft the Saint Louis Rams select: DeAndre McDaniel S Clemson

At 6 ft 1 inch and 215 pounds McDaniel brings althleticism and power to the Rams secondary.

McDaniel brings alittle punch as to being a LB in college for awhile but I saw him play a couple of game and has very good coverage skills as well. He has 12 int's over the last 2 years.

I was looking to get a safety next round but McDaniel grades out as a 2nd rd pick so I am very happy to get him here.

We would be looking weak side LB in free agency or later in the draft.

I would be happy if the Rams came out of the draft with Jordan, Williams and McDaniel.

Three players with very good skill sets at positions that I feel need to be upgraded.

3.15 Miami Dolphins - Taiwan Jones, RB, Eastern Washington

I’ll probably get killed by a segment of Dolphins’ fans still not over the Ted Ginn & Pat White fiascos, but if there’s one thing the Miami offense lacks (besides an NFL-caliber QB), it’s speed.

Taiwan Jones = SPEED.

Lot of buzz around "Chris Johnson-lite" after his pro day where he proved he was fully recovered from his foot injury, running his 40 in the high 4.2/low 4.3 range (also posted a 39.5-inch vertical and 11-foot broad-jump).

May not be suited for every-down work in the NFL yet (or maybe ever), but he makes a nice compliment to DeAngelo Williams or Ronnie Brown (whoever we have at RB) and will instantly upgrade our kick-return game.

So, to recap my off-season (since my picks in this mock are done):

I would not attempt to draft a QB, partly because I’m not completely sold yet on any of the QBs in this year’s class. But also because this is a team that is not a stud-QB away from making a deep play-off push. We don’t have a 2nd round pick in this year’s draft, so if we draft a QB in the 1st, we won’t really be able to address many of our other needs.

I would rather make a push in free agency, use all of our draft picks on other areas, and give Henne one more chance (even though he doesn’t really deserve it IMO) to sink or swim. If we fix all of our other holes, surround him with loads of talent, and he still fails, then next year we can pull a Mike Ditka/Ricky Williams-style trade to move up and grab our franchise QB (because we will have filled most/all of our other needs this off-season).

And if Henne, does make the leap forward this year, then we could make a push this year – all the better!

I would let Ronnie Brown & Ricky Williams both go and add DeAngelo Williams & Taiwan Jones at RB.

I would sign a FA WR to play opposite Brandon Marshall (with Davonne Bess in the slot) –maybe James Jones, Malcom Floyd, or Mike Sims-Walker.

I’ve added Mike Pouncey to sure up our offensive line.

I’d target a TE (Lance Kendricks / DJ Williams) in the 4th round, and then go BPA (any position) after that.

Defense doesn’t need much – maybe target a FS in free agency…

I’m excited just thinking about this offense:

[*]Top-5 O-Line in the league

[*]Brandon Marshall, James Jones & Davonne Bess starting WRs

[*]Lance Kendricks starting TE

[*]DeAngelo Williams at RB with Taiwan Jones in some special packages…

If Henne can’t succeed with that, then he never will…

I don't like to crash the party but what makes you think DeAngelo Williams and James Jones are even remotedly close to signing with the Dolphins (besides the obvious fact that they are free agents)?

There is next to no chance Jones signs with them and a slim chance Williams does. I say it is 1 in 150 that they get both.

:lmao: Wow, you read into that too much. Dolfan isn't saying that they are close to signing. I just think Dolfan is saying that if they were too be signed by the Dolphins that it would make for a younger faster more improved team. :boxing:

The Jacksonville Jaguars select:

Ricky Stanzi, QB, Iowa

We really haven't made any significant QB moves since Leftwich, who was just dismal.

Coming from a pro style offense, Stanzi will require less time to break into a NFL offense. He will require some development, but with Garrard having a few more unspectacular yet competent years left in him, he will have time to grow into an offense featuring MJD, and Rashad Jennings, as well as the young and quick Mike Thomas, and the game breaking upside of Torrey Smith.

Although Stanzi doesn't have the cannon arm, all of these players can make plays with the ball. His mechanics are good, and throwing motion won't require an overhaul. His accuracy is not elite, but adequate/good. Best case, we have a solid NFL starter in development, worst case, we have a decent backup QB to replace Todd Bouman (pushing 40) and Trent Edwards (horrible).

With pick 1.31 in the draft the Steelers select CB Brandon Harris Miami.
CB is obviously a position of need but I'd love to see Marcus Cannon picked here
I was looking at how best to address both a COVER-corner and a PASS BLOCKING-offensive tackle. The Steelers typically get zone corners who can tackle, but I was after a person that could handle locking up on quick receiver especially underneath.

I also love Marcus Cannon (look in the Steeler thread) but really wanted a guy who could handle the perimeter as a pass blocker first and foremost. Thats more Gilbert then Cannon. Wanted more ammunition for Ben then Mendenhall.

So I wasnt just looking at the first round selection, but also the second round selection and how to address both. CB followed by OT made more sense sitting so late in round1.

Thought I'd throw out some grades for teams who have already completed their drafts.

This might seem like I'm an easy grader so I'll explain how I derived my grades. I first look to see if the team got a blue chip player and if they did then they would start out with an, A+, A, or A-, depending on how high the player has been consistently rated at the top of the draft, i.e., if they have consistently graded out high. We know that many players will bust or not perform up to expectations but a slap dash grade during a draft has to be based on consitent PREDRAFT rankings and how the team was able to manuever during the draft.

Carolina Panthers

Grade: B+ (reasoning of the grades below drafts)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Carolina Panthers (Donsmith753)

+ A.J. Green (WR, Georgia)

Drake Nevis DT L.S.U.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Panthers got a blue chip stud in A.J. Green so they automatically start out with an A but gave up their second round pick so they could take QB Jimmy Clausen in last year’s draft, a double whammy so the A falls by an entire letter grade to B before factoring in a solid third round pick of DT Drake Nevis to bump up the final grade to B+.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Denver Broncos

Grade A

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. Denver Broncos (BusMan)

+Marcell Dareus (DT, Alabama)

> Kyle Rudolph - TE - Notre Dame Marvin Austin (DT, North Carolina)

Quan Sturdivant - LB - North Carolina

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Broncos start with a rock solid A player in DT Marcell Dareus and continue that grade into the second round with a solid A second rounder in TE Kyle Rudolph. They would have bumped up their grade to an A+ by getting Marvin Austin but they gave up stud WR Brandon Marshall to acquire the second round choice to negate the extra added grade. They were able to hit a solid pick in the third round for a final grade of a solid A.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bffalo Bills

Grade A+

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

3. Buffalo Bills (Mr. Peterson)

+Cam Newton (QB, Auburn)

> Cameron Heyward - DE - Ohio State

Bruce Carter, OLB North Carolina

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Bills got a great QB prospect who may turn into a franchise QB but it will take a few years to determine Cam’s true value so we give him a solid A to start out with based on potential. The Bills got a solid value in the second round from Cameron Heyward and followed up with another solid value in the third round to bump up the final grade to an A+.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cincinnati Bengals

Grade A

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

4. Cincinnati Bengals (comet909)

+Patrick Peterson (CB, LSU)

> Colin Kaepernick , QB Nevada

Jarvis Jenkins DT Clemson

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Bengals begin with a stud blue chip player in Patrick Peterson and kept that grade by getting a solid player in the second round and following up with a rock solid pick in the third round for a final grade of A.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Arizona Cardinals

Grade A

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

5. Arizona Cardinals (Andy Dufresne)

+Von Miller (LB, Texas A&M)

> Marcus Cannon OG/OT -TCU Andy Dalton QB TCU

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Cards start out with a blue chip stud in LB Von Miller but take a hit when they appear to reach for Cannon in the second round but bump the grade back up to an A by jumping up to get Dalton at the end of the second round.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cleveland Browns

Grade A

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

6. Cleveland Browns (gandalas)

+Nick Fairley (DT, Auburn)

> Jonathan Baldwin WR Pittsburgh

Sam Acho DE University of Texas

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Browns got a solid player in the first round to start with a solid A grade but dipped a bit in the second round to A- however by acquiring an extra third round pick and by nailing their top needs their final grade is a solid A.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

San Francisco 49ers

Grade A

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

7. . San Francisco 49ers (chinawildman) -

+Julio Jones (WR, Alabama)

> Ryan Mallett (QB, Arkansas) Kenrick Ellis NT, Hampton

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Julio is a solid A- talent, a notch below A.J. Green. The second round bumps up the Niner draft score to a solid A.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tennessee Titans

Grade B+

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

8. Tennessee Titans (shader)

+Blaine Gabbert (QB, Missouri)

> Aaron Williams CB Texas

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gabbert is a solid A QB prospect and I like Aaron Williams but the Titans gave up the third round pick they gave up to get Gabbert so the end grade comes to a B+.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dallas Cowboys

Grade A-

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

9. Dallas Cowboys (asn4play)

+Tyron Smith (OT, USC)

> Rahim Moore FS UCLA

Clint Boling (OG, Georgia)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ty Smith is an A- talent, the second round pick Rahim Moore keeps the grade up as does Boling in the third for a final grade of A-.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lower drafted/ranked picked players will earn a lower draft grade but a team can bump up their grade if they got bargains or manuevered well during the draft so it would stand to reason that teams selecting later in the draft would get lower grades.

This guy gets it.I listed 3 receivers that the Dolphins might target, Jones was just one of them. When I was listing out how the offense might look, I didn't want to say Brandon Marshall, Davonne Bess, and [either James Jones, Malcom Floyd, or Mike Sims-Walker, depending on results of free agency...], so I picked one. Sims-Walker has already expressed an interest to come to Miami. I personally would prefer a more stretch-the-field type like Floyd or Jones because I think Sims-Walker's game is too similar to BM. And Jones is younger than Floyd, so I guess he's the one I'm rooting for, but I don't think there would be a meaningful difference in wins/losses for the team between the three of them -- and I certainly think it's within the realm of possibility that Miami signs a receiver of this quality in free agency -- actually I'd say it's a probability if that's what the front office decides that's what they want to do (which I thought was kind of what we were doing in here to begin with -- playing GM). The Miami owner has already shown a willingness to spend money in free agency and wants to make a splash...

As for DWill, again, obviously no sure thing, especially with the uncertainty of the CBA, but he has also expressed interest to come to Miami, and a lot of people are predicting he will end up here, so not sure why you are so shocked by the idea.. Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams are "free agents" too, and I am saying we will let them go... So, if we don't get DWill and we keep Ronnie Brown -- do you think there will be a meaningful difference (in games won/lost) if you exchange Ronnie Brown with DeAngelo Williams in that offense? I don't...

Your just tossing around A's. An A grade should not be that easy. There are only 1 or 2 A drafts in here.

I explained how I derived my grades and said it would seem like I'm an easy grader.Teams selecting lower will get graded lower because they will start out with players NOT considered blue chip. These are only the top nine teams so they automatically start out with a top rated player and PREDRAFT the PREDRAFT ratings are all we have to grade on.

Panthers still have a 3rd round pick, courtesy of the loss of Julius Peppers I believe.

TY. krsone21: I was not trying to start a fight with Dolfan, I was actually wondering if he had any insight on the possibility of the Dolphins signing D-Will or James Jones.I might have sounded a bit too harsh and sarcastic looking back at my own post (which wasn't intended). My bad.

Time for the New York Football Giants to get to work.

Maybe the Giants coulda, shoulda, woulda traded up for a LB like Mason Foster or Bruce Carter but I don't like any player in this class so much that I figured a trade would benefit the team in the end. With the pick of Gabe Carimi I've addressed the need for a left tackle and Brooks Reed gives the Giants a hard-working, high-character x-factor kind of player that will play SLB/DE.

At this spot a couple of players would make sense.

There are some interesting RB's and with Brandon Jacobs being injury-prone and Ahmad Bradshaw a free agent that had problems holding on to the ball it's not out of the question that the Giants look in that direction.

Inside offensive line help. Center Shaun O'Hara and Rich Seubert are both in their respective final contract year and both are well on the other side of their thirties. A versatile player like John Moffitt with experience playing both guard and center, might make a lot of sense here.

I'm led to believe Steve Smith's injury is pretty severe and that could be a reason for finding a young wideout?

The G-Men also had some issues in their defensive backfield, primarily at the safety position. If this class of safeties wasn't the most impressive since I don't remember when I might have looked there.

That being said I think this comes down to one of either Shane Vereen, Jordan Todman, John Moffitt or Jason Pinkston.

While I feel Pinkston might be the best value here he's had a history with a recent knee injury, I do believe you could find a decent guard in the coming rounds, that aren't too far off his talent level. John Moffitt might even last until next time around.

I think finding a replacement or another option to the stable of running backs is a mor pressing need. I like both Todman and Vereen but personally I think Vereen fits the bill better. He's slightly bigger and I like his patience as a running back. I think he could be very succesful in a Giants uniform. In the end therefore...

With the 19th pick of the third round of the Shark Pool 2011 NFL mock draft the New York Football Giants select Shane Vereen, RB, California

Solid, but shame about missing out on Foster. That would've been a perfect fit.

You've done great work throughout this draft Bracie but I got to agree here. Teams have to be judged from positions picked and if they got enough value for the money associated with drafting a young player early. Also if the team in question did adress a specific need might influence the grade (although I find that one to be overrated as a basis for the grade). If you pick 1.01-1.10 you better get a stud!

With the 14th pick in the 3rd round of the 2011 NFL Draft the Saint Louis Rams select: DeAndre McDaniel S ClemsonAt 6 ft 1 inch and 215 pounds McDaniel brings althleticism and power to the Rams secondary.McDaniel brings alittle punch as to being a LB in college for awhile but I saw him play a couple of game and has very good coverage skills as well. He has 12 int's over the last 2 years.I was looking to get a safety next round but McDaniel grades out as a 2nd rd pick so I am very happy to get him here.We would be looking weak side LB in free agency or later in the draft.I would be happy if the Rams came out of the draft with Jordan, Williams and McDaniel.Three players with very good skill sets at positions that I feel need to be upgraded.
Solid, but shame about missing out on Foster. That would've been a perfect fit.
The STL Post Dispatch has actually said the Rams are looking at Foster with their 1st round pick  I was very excited that I thought I was picking him up in the third.I almost picked him instead of Williams in the 2nd.Oh well, I would be happy if my Rams got these 3 guys. Thanks

Your just tossing around A's. An A grade should not be that easy. There are only 1 or 2 A drafts in here.

Opions of a draft before it plays out are not a zero-sum game. In other words I'm not trying to convince anyone that I have the only correct way to view a draft but I do have my point of view.I would agree with your assessment that if you draft at the top of the draft that you had better get a stud and from what I've seen of players picked at the top of this mock teams plucked off what are the top talent and that is what I see as the point of a draft, to acquire the best talent so I do view the actual draft as a zero sum game where their is only so much talent and the point of each team is to gain the most talent and thus deprive the others of that talent. Much like a fantasy draft but in every draft their are busts and steals and that is where others will say with conviction that a player thought to be a stud is a bust or that lower ranked players are steals. I'm going more with the consensus rankings and grading talent acquire via the draft on those rankings. So I feel their is a series of Mendoza Lines that get crossed in each draft where the talent pools diminish. So if a team got a stud at the top of the first and just did OK in the second round they keep that grade. By the third round many Mendoza Lines of talent have been crossed so unless a team got a true steal in the third their ability to up their grade goes down and we don't know who are the true bust or steals yet from this draft so I'm looking at it in a more direct way.Not very enlightening but that is my opinion of how I graded this particular mock.

With pick 3.21, the Philadelphia Eagles select Curtis Brown, CB, Texas

After many failed attempts to trade up to get this guy, I was thrilled when he fell to my selection. Rated by many as the 5-6 best CB in the draft, I'm very pleased to get him in the latter part of the 3rd round. He grades out as a top cover guy with questionable tackling skills...I'll gladly tolerate that shortcoming if he can cover as well as the scouts say. He will compete for and likely win the RCB position opposite Asante Samuel on opening day.

National Football Post writeup:

Impression: He's tall, long and fluid, and runs well for his size. I think he has the ability to play in just about any scheme at the next level and should be a starter on the outside early in his NFL career. Looks like one of the best cover men in the draft, but there are question marks about his ability to tackle.

Overall I'm very pleased with my draft, I felt I added 2 possible opening day starters, Hudson and Brown, with a stud OT prospect in Solder for Mudd to teach and mold into a starter by the end of his rookie year or the start of year 2.

1.23 Nate Solder, OT Colorado

2.22 Rodney Hudson, OG, FSU

3.21 Curtis Brown, CB Texas

With the 3.23 pick of the NFL draft

The Indianapolis Colts select: DeMarco Murray, RB Oklahoma U

The colts will finally address the rb position in the draft. Donald Brown is almost the equal to Joseph dada including injury , but minus the pass blocking. It is expected they won't retain either or both addai and brown after 2012. DeMarco Murray have proven to be a feature back tht can sustain 25 carry a game. However, he too does have his injury issue but if healthy he'll pay dividends. Murray is not an elite pass blocker but he can read blitzes very well and giving manning .5 more seconds to throw is crucial. At 6'1, Murray is a decent size back. The colts have rarely if ever needed a back with elite speed and size. His pass catching ability is a major plus and fit well in the Indy system.

On a side note, I'm surprised he was never brought in for personal workout

You suck, there goes my pick one before me!!!

With the 3.24 pick in the NFL draft -

The Washington Redskins select : Greg "not so" Little, WR UNC

He was the strongest WR at the combine, and one of the biggest. His size, though, didn't slow him down that much, and was still able to run a 4.51. At 6'3", he'd be the tallest WR for the Redskins, who currently don't have a WR over 6 foot.

Not bad for the "extra" pick we got for trading down to get the very same player.

With the 3.26 pick of the NFL draft

The Baltimore Ravens select: Edmund Gates, Abilene Christian

Just like Rocky catching the chicken...... The Ravens now have SPEED!!!! Could be a nice compliment with Boldin catching balls over the middle and Gates on the outside.

The Chargers ended up with Mike Mayock's #1 OT, #4 DE, #2 ILB, and #5 OLB.

All are at positions of need (many filling holes of players likely to depart via free agency).

All are blue collar players who will put in every ounce of effort to reach their full potential which is exactly the type of payers we need.

The last pick was a tough one as we still had needs at rush linebacker as well as a change of pace/return specialist but with the moving of the kickoffs that need diminished a tad in my eyes plus it looked like there were a few on the board still to target in the 4th.

Almost went Todman. Dontay Moch was also a temptation with his production and 40 time, but he bombed in some of the other tests and his 40 time is deceiving with his 10 and 20 yard splits being just okay and the jets coming on after 20.

Bottom line though on tape I didnt like him anywhere close to what I saw from Chris Carter.

The Falcons select Iowa DE Christian Ballard. We had our eyes on Gates, but he was taken by the Ravens right before us. Most mocks have the Falcons taking a DE in the first but they couldn't let Ingram go past them. Ballard fills a need and would be a solid addition.

Are the Falcons a 3-4 team? Ballard is a 3-4 DE but probably kicks inside to a 4-3 under tackle.

Punching out a few more draft grades by teams who have already completed their drafts starting from where I left off:

Washington Redskins

Grade A

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

10. Washington Redskins (matttyl) -

+Robert Quinn (DE, North Carolina)

> Christian Ponder (QB, Florida State)

Greg Little (WR, North Carolina)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Quinn in Washington fits perfectly with Orakpo on the strong side so he can pin his ears back and rush the passer with backside pressure to start out with a solid A. Getting Ponder and then Little fills needs with quality players for a final grade of A.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Houston Texans

Grade B+

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

11. Houston Texans (Yellow Line is Unoffcial)

+Da'Quan Bowers (DE, Clemson)

> Jabaal Sheard DE/OLB Pittsburgh

Davon House CB New Mexico State

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

If Bowers knee checks out he’ll never fall this far so going on what we know there was recent surgery and his Pro Day was sketchy. At best he is going to recquire some rehab time. The anticipated strike/lockout will hinder every rookie but if a guy needs a regimented rehabilitation program it increases the risk of what might happen with Bowers. Upside is Julius Peppers and he is the steal of the draft if the knee is sound and he performs but at this point in the draft he’s an undeniable bargain for the risk so a B+. Sheard is a stud but I don’t see him as an OLB in a 3-4 so I baffled by the selection. Final grade B+.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Minnesota Vikings

Grade C-

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

12. Minnesota Vikings (Andy Dufresne)

+Jake Locker (QB, Washington)

> Stephen Paea DT Oregon St.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Locker isn’t considered a blue chip prospect and may not rate the third best QB of this draft and he was a reach where he was selected. C. I love the Oregon kid in the second round, solid bargain but the missing third round pick for Moss and the reach at the top of the draft lowers the final grade to C=.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Detroit Lions

Grade A

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

13. Detroit Lions (eakfootball) -

+Prince Amukamara (CB, Nebraska)

> Randall Cobb (WR, Kentucky)

Mason Foster-OLB-Washington

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Prince going to Detroit is a perfect fit of the last of the blue chip talent landing in a perfect spot to start out with an A and the selections of Cobb and Foster solidify the final grade of an A.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

St. Louis Rams

Grade B-

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

14. St. Louis Rams (Blackjack)-

+Cameron Jordan (DE, California)

> Ryan Williams (RB, Virginia Tech

DeAndre McDaniel S Clemson

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cam Jordan is a solid B prospect, Williams has nice upside but will have to wait. Final grade B-

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Miami Dolphins

Grade C+

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

15. Miami Dolphins (Dolfan) -

> Mike Pouncey (OL, Florida)

Taiwan Jones, RB, Eastern Washington

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pouncey may have been taken a tad high. Brandon Marshall for a second round choice is a no-brainer, Jones doesn’t raise final grade of C+.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jacksonville Jaguars

Grade B-

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

16. Jacksonville Jaguars (CompetitiveEdgeFootball)
 -

+Aldon Smith (DE, Missouri)

> Torrey Smith (WR, Maryland)

Ricky Stanzi, QB, Iowa

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aldon is smaller and may have fit better as an OLB 3-4 prospect but decent pass rusher. Torey Smith could go higher but Stanzi may only be a backup as he seems to fail in the clutch. B-.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oakland Raiders

Grade B+

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

17. Oakland Raiders (Harjiran) -

> Danny Watkins (OT, Baylor)

Curtis Marsh, CB Utah St.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

No first round pick but they’ve had Richard Seymour and he is rock solid but no upside but still a solid enough bargain to begin with an A-. Watkins was an incredible bargain and Marsh is a decent value for a final grade of B+.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

San Diego Charers

Grade A-

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

18. San Diego Chargers ( KeeferMan) -

+ Anthony Castanzo (OT, Boston College) Adrian Clayborn (DE, Iowa)

Colin McCarthy, LB Miami

Chris Carter, OLB/DE Fresno State

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Castanzo has been the highest ranked OT on many mocks so I really like that pick. Also I LOVE Adrian Clayborn.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

New York Giants

Grade B+

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

19. New York Giants (J Andersson)

+Gabe Carimi OT, Wisconsin

> Brooks Reed (OLB, Arizona)

Shane Vereen (RB, California)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think Costanzo will be the best OT prospect so begin with a B- but Brooks Reed is one of my favs of this draft and looks like an incredible bargain late in the second so the grade bumps up to a final of B+

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Grade B

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers(Kirby)

+Ryan Kerrigan (DE, Purdue)

> Martez Wilson (LB, Illinois)

Jacquizz Rodgers (RB, Oregon St.)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kerrigan is a solid B as are Wilson and Rodgers for where they went off the board.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry checking on my don't know if I'm up next or a guy away. If I'm up ill make my pic in an hour when I get home.

3.29 Chicago takes... Terrell McClain DT S Florida

Quick high motor tackle, fills the vacant spot of Tommie Harris (Done injuries) and Marucs Harrison, Jaron Gilbert (Both Bust's) and Anthony Adams (Old and a FA).

with how this mock went, Bears would look at WR (Hawaii kid, and Pettis), RB, Oline, CB, Special teams type player to fill out their roster.

Well it wasn't like it was me that traded away the 3rd rounder. And all indications are that Locker will be the Vikings' pick.

Kruppe PM'd and asked me to make a pick at either CB or OLB. So I went ahead and gave the New York Jets:

Dontay Moch, DE/OLB, Nevada

From what I saw of Cromartie, he was able to somewhat hold his own against NFL starting receivers so I went OLB with this pick. After the failed Vernon Gholston experiment, I decided to go ahead and swing for the fences again on this pick with another physical freak that will need some fine tuning to perform at an NFL level. At almost 250 lbs, he was timed in the 4.3s a few times. That's like Vernon Davis playing linebacker, a scary thought. If this guy pans out and gets a bit stronger against the run, he's got the upside to be a beast. At the end of the third, he's a good gamble for the Jets who just lost a big one on Gholston.

OK, this may be a little early, but I believe the Chiefs will take a QB in the middle rounds.

With pick 3.30 the KC Chiefs select T.J. Yates QB from North Carolina

Let the arguing begin.

New York Giants

Not here to ##### and whine about the grade, it's more than fair.Just want to point out that I also believe Castonzo is a better fit (not sure he's much better than Carimi but he's a more legitimate LEFT tackle prospect at this point), however he wasn't available when I picked so it's pretty damn hard to pick him. Unless of course you feel I should have moved up?

With 3.32 the packers select James Brewer, OT Indiana

As a follow-up to the trade I made during the draft, at 4.5 I would take John Moffit if available. With some of the teams who pick at the top of the draft having needs at OT, I wanted to go OT first and OG second, but I actually think that Moffit will be a better pro.

I was actually planning on taking moffit during my last pick but I don't think the bears would go back to back interior lineman with their pics even though they should. Moffit will be a beast ot the next level.
