fantastic #### all around ... i believe "Parallel Lines" was released in late '78 ... but i still consider it to be '79, cuz it broke the #### out that summer - so i officially toss it into the mix, as well ... also, Queen's "Jazz" was a very meh effort, but their "Live Killers" is about as good a live album as you'll ever hear ... May's work on "Now I'm Here" and "Brighton Rock" is nothing short of jaw dropping.

are they getting decent field sizes?  

real kick in the ### this trip was planning on hitting the Spa, but they cancelled the card due to the oppressive heat/humidity.

No. The death is near. They cut a day plus a race a day. First time ever at Del Mar I’m seeing 6-7 horse fields. Terrible. By the way LA county is voting soon to ban horse racing. Ceremonial because they have no jurisdiction over Santa Anita but it’s bad. Nobody is interested in 6 horse fields. If they can’t fix this, even if they just go Fri Sat Sun it’s over. Sad.

yeah, recall covering that up in my other thread - the outright BAN hammer on the table - whodathunkit?

things happen in Cali ... odd things, unpredictable things, stupefying things ... they get out ahead of #### over there, for better or worse - i recall being in Marin some 30 years ago and first getting wind of the proposed smoking ban - i laughed maniacally at the mere suggestion, then opined that it may ... may ... may get legislated out there by those damn hippies, but that it could NEVER NEVER EVER gain even remote traction back home - yet, here we are, it's been a reality for roughly 13 years  :shrug:

Del Mar & The Spa are the pinnacle of the game - i'm very sorry to hear of how scaled back things are getting.   it's a harbinger, i'm afraid - give it a decade, they'll get their way, and we'll be stunned by the outcome, even though we see the sown seeds as we type - ehhhh, reminds me, i gotta run out for a smoke ...

 
My state promises sports betting by the super bowl. May have to start directing my attention that way as opposed to the horseys.

i have really scaled back since misfiring on the Belmont - talked Tacitus up to the point of "CAN'T MISS KEY HORSE" then i left him on the sideline, keying two tomato cans instead - gut punch ... the stupidity of horse players (me!) can be astounding ... we all think we know more than we do - being clever never won me a ####### penny  :shrug:

so i transitioned to soccer wagering, diving head first into the WWC and the USWNT - parlayed them all the way thru, hit some nice side props, got a better grasp of the 1X2 shtick for matches, etc. 

been focusing now on the smaller Euro leagues - the Iceland/Swedish/Russian matches, in particular ... absolute mind blowing matches to wager on - gave back a good chunk of the WWC bounty, but i'm inching back up - still ahead quite a few shekels ⚽️

will prolly sit out Fantasy this year to concentrate more on NFL bets ... the props are gonna be MINT - just gotta stay above water here for the next 6 or so weeks ... if i have to reload i'm gonna be very disappointed - i need to keep this bankroll healthy enough to get to Week 1 .... but i got that soccer bug big time, the action is so tempting. 

once your state legislates i suggest trying BetAmerica - not the greatest with kickback juice, but they more than make up for that with the best customer service i have ever encountered - THEY ACTUALLY ANSWER THE PHONE AFTER ONLY TWO RINGS!

it's been a blast, hope you get to indulge soon  :thumbup:
