Is Al Davis crazy? Oh yeah, never mind, no need to answer that. The Raiders were one of,if not the most improved team in the NFL in 2010. Terrible move by Al to fire Cable.

The guy deserves at least another year - and that sounds like a cliche' about coaches, but like an earlier poster said, how can you NOT reward the coach who helped the team improve this year?? Even though they are sitting at home now, they SWEPT the division . . .

How long until Cable is picked up? If Harbaugh and Cowher, among others, don't hit Carolina, he seems a decent fit over there. Or move across the bay?

I'd be happy if he replaced Fisher, maybe I'm overreaching here but I really liked what I saw from him and he could be another coach cast off by a team who lands somewhere else with a better owner and dominates the NFL for a decade.

Al Davis is nuts. Cable should have never been hired...but he did a very credible job in a position very few coaches would take, and absolutely deserved a longer look.

Most would be surprised that the Raiders outscored the Saints, Packers, and Texans this year and was 6th in points scored. So the offense is the reason for improvement. Hue Jackson ran the offense and would have gotten a head coaching job somewhere.What has Cable done to get more time. Oakland has talent but his team was still wildly inconsistent. Cable wasnt the long term solution and was always looked at as a bridge coach. So if they like Jackson, might as well get started now.

The Raiders looked really awful in some games. Not just because they lost but because they garnered so many penalties. Cable would have been okay to keep but depending who they replace him with it's not a bad move to fire him.

I do not want him as a HC in SF.

I understand firing Cable. The team actually has alot of talent now, so maybe go get a big time coach that can get the most out of that talent. Now looking at Hue Jackson as a favorite pretty much kills this point.

But on the other hand, what did Al expect out of this season? 8 wins seems like a big success for what they have been recently, so he really couldn't be disappointed in that could he ave been?

sorry i got a crock pot for Christmas and its been on my mind a lot beecause i really like it and am becoming a slow cooked food aficionado and the reference was that if al came over hed probably break my crock pot because he is nuts and would go after it right away
