Should retired players that come back go back to the Fantasy Owner that lost them?

Example:

Corey Dillon retired while Team A had him on their Fantasy Team.

Corey Dillon is now thinking of returning to the NFL.

Team B wants to pick him up, but should Team A have the choice first?

Happened to me with Robert Smith.

He led the league in rushing...then he just up and retired.

I kept him on my roster for a few weeks into the next season, but I eventually had to drop him.

Tough luck. This is what happens with Dynasty leagues that are older than 2 years. You'll see stuff like this happening more and more often.

They only reason he should have first chance at him is if the league rules forced him to drop retired players.

I could see establishing league rules that provide for this, but in the absence thereof, no.

There's a dude in one of my leagues who DRAFTED Dillon (and has actually kept him all year). The answer to this poll is HELL NO.

[Yes, that team that owned him should get him if they want him. [ 3 ] [5.66%] ]

I am shocked, that is 3 more than I thought would have said yes.

He is fair game for whatever the leagues pick up rules are, unless of course he was drafted. My brother drafted Barry Sanders for 4 years after he retired, convinced that he was coming back. :nerd:

In any poll some people will misread the question or mark the wrong chad. Especially people in Florida.

voted yes because I live in Florida.

I'm with everyone else on this topic. I kept Barry Sanders on my roster for two friggin' years thinking he was coming back before I cut him.

If the team who dropped him gets first dibs, then that team essentially has an extra roster spot. No dice, Chicago ;)
