Should this bother me? (1 Viewer)

My wife goes to a function with one of her colleagues and teammate. Teammate's husband also goes. After the function they all go back to their house to hang out and have some wine.

My wife asks what kind of wine it is, and the husband says "Menage a Trois".

1. I trust my wife completely. She would never do anything.

2. I know this couple too. We are not great friends, but we have socialized on a few occasions.

3. Husband is a known adulterer.

Wife came home and told me that he said this, and that it was harmless and a joke. But I must admit that it bothers me. Again, not worried about my wife, but I feel that it is an inappropriate comment. Although I am also bothered by the fact that my wife seems flippant to the comment.

I plan on speaking to my wife about it, but I am just curious if I am being overly sensitive. Should this bother me?

Was it really Menage a Trois? I've had it before, it's a good wine. One of my producers bought a bottle for everyone in our office.

Yes, hadn't considered this. I still think it's inappropriate to make sexually suggestive remarks about someone else's wife. Particularly when wife's husband is not there. And even moreso when you are a cheating scumbag.
No seriously, that is the name of the wine...
I understand this now. But no, it was not the wine they had.

Lol its a joke. People need to get your permission before they make a joke? If anyone should be mad it should be his wife

Its a name if a popular wine. Even if they didnt have it, its a pretty harmless joke to make sort of like a sex on the beach joke. Its dumb adult humor

If it wasn't the wine that the guy was serving, which seems likely, it's just dumb joke. If you trust your wife who cares? Not a big deal.

The known adulterer comment is a bit interesting. Does his wife know this?

It would sure as hell make me pistol-whip the guy right then and there. But you? No, it should not bother you in the slightest. Enjoy.

Call the guy and let him know that you are into it as long as you two don't make eye contact during the deed, and that you get to pick which wife.

Why weren't you there if spouses were welcome?
Wife's parents and aunt were in from out of town. There was a family gathering planned at SIL's house. I had to take our two kids, aunt, and in laws to family gathering. Wife couldn't attend family gathering because she was attending the benefit.

Are you sure?

So she goes out drinking while you cart her family around? I wouldn't worry. You're clearly the one she's ####in'.

Did the three way happen and your wife is seeing how mad you will be if she tells the whole truth?

From what I can tell...

He answered her question honestly, that was the wine he was serving.

This apparently went clear over the wife's head, who took the response for a sexual innuendo. She was secretly excited by the invitation but is like 90% of the women out there who keep those fantasies in her head rather than act them out.

She did want to tease the story out a little more by telling you, hoping to keep that pang of excitement going a little through reminding you she is still wanted and making you a little jealous.

You took the bait, also failing to see the obvious situation that the guy was simply answering the question.

All due to a smart marketer somewhere
