WAT? That's stoopid, K!I"d given up on some of my favorites making it, but with Sniff n the Tears cracking the top 20, there's hope for everyone!
. But the styles! I feel like we're going with the Beatles and the Beach Boys at first - baroque at its best! Then we slip into waltz time - @rockaction, I've referenced both the Beach Boys and waltz time here, so isn't this made for you. But the music also has essences of so much else, from jazz to Ron Sexsmith to my friend Joe's old band. I can't even describe how extraordinary this music is.It's clearly me.Well you gotta spill who it is, you know!
This is a great freaking song, and certainly in the running for best OHWOAT, but I think another song you've already tapped takes it.18. Sniff 'n' the Tears - Driver's Seat
This may seem like a surprise that it's this high. Hell, I'm even surprised. But it's just an incredible song, and BY FAR the greatest one hit wonder of all time.
Every time I see you post a drinking video and it isn't coming out of a vintage Air Jordan I subconsciously think to myself "Pffft. That's not the real shuke."
Winwood just kills on this song. KILLS.14. Blind Faith - Can't Find My Way Home
A lot of great songs on this album. Wish they would have made more.
when a man can buck the chalk in an ALL-TIME top 1,012 well, then we know the man has taste and sack <---- NTTAWWT.18. Sniff 'n' the Tears - Driver's Seat

will conclude my morning Hippling here ... a criminally under appreciated outfit, and i've long blagged on this bored about my undying love for vintage rock n' roll soul Ian Hunter - the man is as quantum as it comes, same age as Lennon would've been - man has more than paid his dues - still out there gigging, came around to the City last year, and, much to my deep regret, i missed it ... dunno if i'll ever get another chance. #### me.22. Mott the Hoople - All the Young Dudes
Another inspiration for undergoing this endeavor, is that growing up I loved when my hometown local rock station every Memorial Day weekend did a top 500 countdown. I'm pretty sure it's where I first heard this song, and many others that didn't get regular radio play.
I've liked almost everything I've heard from them. They are another forgotten band that deserves more love.
This one is a song I love as a studio track, but for me doesn’t deliver live. Live I feel this one meanders, but I can put it on every time in the car. Anyone else had that experience?19. Wilco - Spiders
My wife and I have been married for 18 years. This was our first "shared" favorite band when we were dating.
I would say that they are probably one of my 5 favorite bands despite this song being in the 19th spot.
Extremely tough to make a choice here. Others considered At Least That's What You Said, Misunderstood, You are My Face, Via Chicago,
Up next at the eleven slot: Nickelback12. Foo Fighters - Everlong
I had a TV in my bedroom when I was a teenager and I grew up watching Letterman on NBC, when it was really good. Letterman is an important part of my life or something, not really sure what I'm trying to say since I'm getting drunk, but I always loved this song, but it sparks an emotional response from me after I saw this.
Actually I'd prefer everyone watch the Letterman clip and not the official video.
Also, this an awesome workout song. I can't run because of arthritis in my feet, so I use the elliptical. I often play this for the last 4 minutes of my workout.
Well at least it only took about a thousand tries to get to a good one. NOT BAD SHUKE14. Blind Faith - Can't Find My Way Home
A lot of great songs on this album. Wish they would have made more.
Bowie wrote it.For the longest time, I was SURE this was David Bowie ... wait ...
All the young dudes (hey dudes!)
Carry the news (where are you?)
Boogaloo dudes (stand up, come on)
Carry the news
All the young dudes (I want to hear you)
Carry the news (I want to see you)
Boogaloo dudes (I want to talk to you, all of you)
Carry the news (now)
Good song.
“Jesus, etc.” for me - they are also one of my top 10 bands.19. Wilco - Spiders

You don’t know what you are talking about. Literally, I mean, since you’ve never heard it. Had your post not been so snarky, I might have provided a link. Go ahead and imagine how it sounds but I guarantee you’d be wrong.Wait...Phish covered Freebird?
Now I know what hell is like.
Among the greatest albums ever made. Just about any song of theirs could be in this slot. Love the splash cymbals on this one: Come down off your throne and leave your body alone <splash>. Part of me prefers “Presence of the Lord” but zero qualms here.14. Blind Faith - Can't Find My Way Home
A lot of great songs on this album. Wish they would have made more.
Great choice. I saw them open for Love and Rockets in 1989 and have loved them ever since. When I saw them last summer with Weezer (I left while Weezer was playing), they didn’t finish with Here Comes Your Man which was awesome. They went with their cover of Head On and it was hard and fast and left a lot of posers in the audience disappointed. Awesomeness.11. Pixies - Where Is My Mind
This was in my list for a long time, but its use in The Leftovers, one of the greatest television series of all time, catapulted it up probably 30 spots.
That was the song that got me into the Pixies off of Trompe Le Monde. They went with their cover of Head On and it was hard and fast and left a lot of posers in the audience disappointed. Awesomeness.
Was all over the OTR- Rosedale, Japps, some other bar. The women of Cinci are very outgoing.Where you at?
Good job not playing Freebird.16. Lynyrd Skynyrd - Tuesday's Gone
I love the early guitar solo and then the piano solo midway through the song.
Not Freebird! @pecorino
i thought the choice for Skynyrd was pretty simple, manGood job not playing Freebird.
At the zoo then heading to Kings Island. Going to be a late start tonight.Would be pretty epic if shuke never returned to this thread.
What time do the festivities start tonight?![]()

Um, oh boy. Gee *scratches back of neck* well...I previously mentioned the tempo changes. But the styles! I feel like we're going with the Beatles and the Beach Boys at first - baroque at its best! Then we slip into waltz time - @rockaction, I've referenced both the Beach Boys and waltz time here, so isn't this made for you.
You and your fancy abbreviations and dalliances with the fairer sex. I loathe you.Was all over the OTR- Rosedale, Japps, some other bar. The women of Cinci are very outgoing.
Made you look. This is the worst thing I’ve ever heard https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=W_XI7hm7ygk
I’d rather hear Chris Bergman play the entire Air Supply catalogue by sticking a kazoo up his butt and farting.
That's what that Phish vacuum song sounds like. This is the worst thing I’ve ever heard https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=W_XI7hm7ygk
