Love this song and he’s part of another band that I hope might appear (maybe it has, there’s been a lot of songs so far). Also, Crosses is right up there.
So many good songs to choose from but no matter what you choose, this is way too low for Sublime. What weren’t you smoking when you made this list?

no. I am now doing drunk calories. Not counting:
6 pack of frozen White Castle with american cheese added
a full tube of pringles low salt
a sleeve of captain's crackers
a 7 oz tub of truffle pate (not that great ...kroger buy ...but good)
2 hostess snowballs
...just getting started.
ETA: daughter just made dark chocolate caramel brownies. We have Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream. The move?
I go full 2 brownies alone ...to test the waters. Then I put a large brownie in the microwave for about 20 seconds AND then plop 2 giant beautiful scoops of that ice cream on it.
...I'm not done.

While Soul Man holds a spot in my heart (it's my go-to karaoke song, and I can bring the house down with it; I actually sang it a few times with a buddy's band at some college gigs, as a "guest" performer), this song is just better.

Seeing this recommendation made me remember that I don't think anyone named Daysleeper, which would be on my list as well. One of the only late-90s and beyond REM songs I enjoy a lot.
They should switch those two activities between night and day, by the way.

If I were to think about it much, I'd likely say these are two of the best bands ever put together. Yet I rarely listen to either one of them. Thanks for the reminder; need to fix that.
What the hell happened to Rod Stewart later in the 70s/80s, though. Gah.
During my ill-conceived three-year stint in Memphis, I lived in a house on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River and the Memphis in May festival that [icon] is always on about (much more fun than I would have suspected). One of the weekends is a music festival, and not wanting to get into the madness down below I listened to Mumford and Sons play while drinking on one of the back decks. I hadn't been a huge fan before, but they sounded awesome. One of my favorite days in Memphis.

I've only visited Memphis once (2 day business trip). Beale Street is the place I hit on the one free night I had.
It was amazing. I plan to visit again sometime.

My wife and I went to a small club in Toronto to see Mumford when they were just sort of breaking out. They weren’t stopping in Detroit on the tour. They were fantastic live in that small venue.

I kind of like the name.
One of the primary duties of my old job was to act as the 1st responder to any emergencies.
Luckily, small chemical spills, a few minor injuries and a lot of false alarms were the extent of my experience. I have a life long friend who is a Fireman/EMT. He has some real experience. First Aid Kits are pretty powerful, imo.
I agree on the music.

I only like one Jackson Browne song, Doctor My Eyes, but I like it waaaaaay too much. Guiltiest of guilty pleasures and one I'll sing at the top of my lungs. Some terrible local band played it at a BBQ joint in Memphis one night and I think I tipped them all of my money. Not just the money I had on me; all of it.
I love your pick and New Slang, but my favorite is Caring is Creepy. I have a membership at the artsy theatre in Port Townsend, WA, average age of 80 years, and for about a few weeks last year their pre-movie music was just that song played on a loop. The gray-hairs were awfully confused.
