Sidney Rice benchable now? (1 Viewer)

Anyone considering benching him now that Jackson is on IR and Favre out again? He should still get tons of targets, just not sure if Webb can deliver it to him.

I would not start 2 wide receivers from MIN, and one is risky. I would stay away from Rice if possible. Also, I'm fairly certain Webb is going to be the starter, and regardless it's not like Ramsey would be a boost in value by any means.

Webb looked to be targeting Rice while he was in the game last week, plus his mobility suits Rice, as he can extend plays with his legs, allowing Rice even more time to get open. Maybe I'm trying to convince myself, but I'm starting Rice, and expecting around 6/80.

I do recall Webb taking a somewhat deep shot at Rice, which was nice and looked better than what Jackson had been doing. But for right now I have Rice on the bench behind Tampa Mike. I would like to see the game at Gopher Stadium for the people in Minny and for the sake of watching the game on tv; I'd like the game to be in a Dome for the sake of my FF team.

I'd feel better if I knew WHERE this game was going to take place. 5 degree weather on a frozen field doesn't sound like a good scenario for an inexperianced QB and a WR coming off hip surgery.

Now, if they move the game to some other dome..............

Surprised there's not more discussion on this. Lot of guys have had him on their pine all year, waiting for now to play him... is it time to play him? Playoffs. Of course it depends on your expectations and options. For me... it's Rice or Tony Gonzo as my flex. Tough call.

It's nice to think he's going to have a lot of targets... but so did Larry Fitzgerald with Derek Anderson. Targets do not always equal catches. And on this field, in this weather... ya maybe 10+ targets. But maybe 4-5 catches? 60 yards?

What say you, SP?

Playing Maclin and Tampa Mike over Rice also. Glad I am not the only one. I was looking forward to having Rice on Monday night but there seems to be too much going against him right now.

Playing webb over Rice. Figure I'll still get credit for the TDs he catches, plus any that go to Harvin, ADP, Shank, etc... we'll see how it goes

Very disappointing I hold onto Rice in several leagues all year and he gave me 1 good game. Now he is on all my benches. Can't risk it.

Times change fast in 1 league I have waived S-Rice because I have AJ, Colston, Welker, Maclin, Britt and Marshall.

I can only start 4. Hard to believe Marshall my 2nd round pick is now my 6th best WR.

Sure wish I would have taken a TE in the 2nd round now instead of playing a scrub.

Like I said things change fast in the NFL.

My WR's are a good example.

I'm playing Rice because of upside. I faced V. Jackson this week so I need some big production.

My alternative is Santana Moss, so it seems like an easy decision to go Rice.

I'm benching him in favor of Big Mike Williams. Just too risky with such a raw QB.
I have this same dilemma.........leaning BMW myself.
BMW is healthy, and there isn't much left standing in Seattle at WR. Hass isn't the greatest QB in the world, but he'll chuck it around for 200-300 yards, something I seriously doubt Webb/Ramsey can do with such little time leading that offense.

I've been trying to decide between him and Jennings this week in a PPR league. I am leaning towards Jennings right now. Also starting Britt and Nicks in that league but it's mainly between Jennings and S. Rice for my #3 right now IMO.

Anyone starting Vikes this week must be desperate! If you watched last week's game, it couldnt be any clearer that Minny is nothing without a good Qb. The Bears will put 8 in the box - dbl Rice - game over. AP will stink again since there is no passing game to defend. Rice-Harvin-Ap should be on fantasy bench's until next season.

If Ziggy doesnt draft/trade for a legitimate NFL Qb, the talents of AP+ will just be wasted. Idiot Childress should have had a Qb in place LAST year (TJax is NOT the answer) - now the Vikes are screwed for a season or 2.

Ill be sitting AP this week and starting Benson. Ap will get maybe 40-50 total yrds tops.

Good Luck Dr Awesome. Youll need it if you start that many Vikes (ps-the weather wont be very good Mon either).
