Single greatest act of kindness another board member has done for you (1 Viewer)

Last year when I decided to start losing some weight I stumbled upon Tipsy's Weight Loss Challenege thread. Got hooked up with Keerock's site for tracking the friendly competition, and Musesboy referred me to SparkPeople. Thanks to the encouragement of the three above, and others, I lost 60+ pounds in just under six months. Now a full year after I've began, it is a total lifestyle change and I've kept the weight off.To top it off, Musesboy PM'd me some live Throwing Muses concert stuff as a congrats for my progress!
I never posted in that thread and never told anyone this, but that thread was the catalyst for me deciding to lose 35 pounds last year. A year later it's still off. I also no longer put sugar in my coffee, something I'd done all my life, because of the weight loss thread. Those guys will never know what an inspiration they were, or how much better this 49-year-old feels every day, being back down to my playing weight of my 20s.

i got a :D once. Dont remember who gave it to me tho.
That was me, you ungrateful bastich! :lmao:Urbanhack hooked me up with a few free rounds of golf at my favorite course in Columbus. :unsure:Sacamano has always been a submissive bottom on his numerous C-bus visits. :bag:Shuke and WampusCat for setting up and running the Cincy-Dayton-Columbus FF League...good times!GM for the ForrestMail lovin'.But by far the most amazing thing...when Sacamano posted a thread about winning $2000, I posted a thread jokingly asking if anyone had a couple grand I could borrow. To my surprise, I got 3 or 4 PM's offering to help out if I needed some cash. Holy crap, I was absolutely floored. Some seriously good people here.

My family got blasted in Katrina. Lost most of our things, had nowhere to live, my work situation was a disaster.

The kind people of FFA started a pool to help out FBG's in need and Joe matched that amount. I received a check well over $1000 from FBG's. To put that in perspective, I got nothing from FEMA and 300 from American Red Cross.

I will never forget that.

That rocks. That was the greatest act of collective kindness of the FFA.

Nucular George drove into downtown Chicago late on a Friday night , picked me up at my hotel, picked up Urbanhack and took me to the Maproom for a few rounds of beer. The next night NG & the Mrs. picked my wife and I up at our hotel and took us to a wonderful restaurant and picked up the bill.

Made a pretty good weekend trip awesome. NG and Hack are good people.

I forgot that Cathy Fazio called me and talked dirty to me in a French accent one time and I tried to convince one of her kids that I was Tom Brady. I really miss her.

I will start. Z Machine, who I had not met, basically gave me the keys to his place in Madrid when I was on vacation, putting me up for 3 days or so and allowing me to come and go as I wanted. He showed me around, and was able to give me the local's perspective. Very cool of him! And I paid him back by helping to get him ####ed up the last night there, knocking on his door around 10 and asking if he was planning on going to work :lmao:

That's better than me saving you from being jumped by 2 black guys?

Big thanks to urbanhack for the golf hookup, GM for the beers and food in Portland, scorchy for the music, and Homer for having a gentle and caring thrust.

I definitely appreciate the advice I get here. Guys like Drifter, Dowling and wilked (among many others) who always add positive advice and feedback when you start a thread asking questions.

Drifter was a great resource for me while we were doing the same diet and exercise programs. I got 2 page pm's from him filled with personal povs and advice. Always a 5 start dude in my book.

when i split up with my wife keys drove all the way in from madison and was our designated driver for the night. on another occasion strykerpks took a cab from oak creek to meet us because he had said he would meet us out and got drunk at a party earlier that day, so he spent 40-50 bucks getting to where we were, just to keep his word. iirc he also ditched a girl that night.
:rolleyes:And then you let me crash at your place that night and drove me home the next morning. Thanks GB! :lmao:
