Should the 49ers grab Sinorice Moss?
By Hugo Guzman ; 01/30/06
Should the San Francisco 49ers forget the mock drafts and the pre-draft hype and select Sinorice Moss? Some draft experts had Santana Moss' little brother going as low as the early third round, but that was before his NFL-caliber performance in the Senior Bowl on Saturday.
So what is the reason for his low draft status? His height. Sinorice was measured at only 5'8" during pre-game workouts. Now let’s take a moment to analyze this logic a bit further. Right now, two of the best and most consistent receivers in the NFL, Marvin Harrison and Steve Smith, are both in the under 5'10". Harrison has his Hall of Fame ticket already stamped and Smith was very close to garnering NFL MVP honors this year. Add to that the fact that Sinorice's older brother also measures 5'8" yet is one of the most explosive and dangerous pass catchers in the league, and you have to start wondering how these "draft experts" got their press credentials.
Based on Sinorice Moss' pedigree and the living proof that short wide receivers can indeed dominate the NFL, the San Francisco 49ers should put at least some thought into drafting Moss. Sometimes, big things come in small packages
