Sizemore's elbow derails him for season
The Indians are expected to announce today that Grady Sizemore's season will come to an end due to a sore left elbow.
It's the right move, but it somehow just got even tougher to be an Indians fan this season. Sizemore had reportedly been playing through the pain all year long and the ailment will require surgery in the offseason. His injury was most certainly the culprit for his down performance this year -- he'll conclude 2009 with a .248/.343/.445 batting line, compiling 18 homers and 13 steals in 436 at-bats. He's certain to fall down draft boards next year. Michael Brantley is expected to take his place the rest of the year in center. Sep. 4 - 3:45 pm et
