Not necessarily surprising considering Gary Kubiak coached with Mike Shanahan (Skeletor I) for so long. RBBC seems to be the way several NFL teams are leaning towards. Having FULL-TIME running back's on your roster is definitely becoming a premium these days. IMO, this bumps up the value of these RB's as well as some of the stud WR's. More touches, equal more potential...and vice versa.

HOU - Texans Planning RB By-Committee?

Source: HoustonTexans.com

Comments made by Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak on Friday led many to speculate that the team is planning to employ a running back by committee at the start of the regular season. When asked whether three running backs would be involved in Sunday's preseason game, Kubiak said "Well, we'll definitely get two, and the third one will work in the fourth quarter. That third one will either be (RB) Antowain (Smith) or (RB) Chris Taylor. But (RB) Wali (Lundy) and (RB Vernand) Morency will play the game rotating as if we were playing opening day."

I think you guys are reading too much into this. He's trying RBBC out BEFORE opening day. I don't think this necessarily means it will be RBBC, if it is RBBC, who gets what role, nor these are the backs moving up/down the depth charts, etc.

Pre-season...

i think it's an effort to see who will be the backup. lundy and morency have both played pretty good.
