Sleeper pick of the week (1 Viewer)

With S. Holmes out, and playing against the defense that has allowed the 4th most TD receptions by opposing WR’s in the NFL...you have to figure Nate Washington is as good a sleeper pick as any this week.

I see him with 5-7 catches for 86 yds and 1 td.

Very solid WR3

Seriously considering starting him over both Berrian and J. Walker this week.

I'm in the same boat with him or Walker. I like Washington a lot this week and he could have a nice game.

I'm with you Duece. this is a make or break game for me this week and I think Washington should fair pretty well. He seems to do when when given the chance. I think the injury to Holmes also gives a bump to Heath Miller.

I been going back and forth on this one as well...I would be benching Deion Branch (Hasselbeck questionable) for him if I do.

I think he will be the third passing option after Ward and Miller, where Holmes would have been the first.

Be wary. Hines Field is hosting high school playoff games and The U of Pitt is playing there Saturday night, the field is already soft and the forecast calls for heavy rain. Could be pretty sloppy by gametime.

Dang it, that 70% chance of rain makes me second guess this one. I hate Berrian's matchup vs Champ, and Javon is less than healthy.

:construction:

I am also tempted to start Nate over the likes of Gore, Evans OR Branch....

I think you have start Branch if you got him...that game SHOULD be a shoot-out.

I also think Evans will follow up last weeks roughing up with the Pats with a good showing @ Jax with their their best CB out.

I can't stand the though of starting Gore again, but I MUST win this week. It's scary starting Nate, who KNOWS if he's goona see enough passes to warrant a start?

Ward is healthy. The weather is going to crappy and they installed new sod on top of the old surface so you have to wonder how good the footing will be.

However Washington will be starting at split-end as opposed to being in the slot where he normally plays so he is going to get more playing time and he's got a good matchup. Washington is the fastest WR on the Steelers and now becomes the deep threat.

Nate should be a good play this week.

Ben threw for 5 TDs in the rain on MNF just three weeks ago - in one half. Two of them were to Washington.Im just sayin...

With holmes out Nate is not much of a sleeper, but I agree.

I am considering starting Nate over Berrian b/c of champ.....I think Miller may be the bigger recipient with Holmes out though.

Ben really seems to like him down in the red zone. Add in sloppy conditions and a poor pass D looks even worse. I have also been unimpressed with Parker on sloppy fields. Could see another 3-4 TD game for Ben and Washington could very well get at least one of those.

The Dolphins have the #4 rated defense v. the pass in terms of yards given up. While they have given up 16 td passes, they are stingy in giving up yards.

Have anything to do with the fact that they're always trailing and teams can go conservative w/ the playcalling?

That would make sense.

ugh.

but man, was that field nasty.

now the question is, do we play nate washington against the bengals next week? (yup, the steelers are at home again.)

Looks like this "sleeper pick" was almost as good as the Mark Clayton "sleeper pick" last week.

What were ol' Nate's final stats on the night, anyway?
