So.... after two weeks, who do you regret drafting? (1 Viewer)

Let's see here.......pretty much my whole team

Jordan, S Smith, Houshmanzahdeh, Droughns, Brooks, C Brown. Even Reggie Bush is worrying me a little....looks like he'll be up and down all year long.

It's pretty sad that it was Week 2 and I already sat my 1st round pick.

My RBs are a mess and my top 2 WRs are injured, but I am 1-1, thanks to McNabb and Vick (I can start 2 QBs in a 6 pt per TD pass league).......McNabb and Vick netted me 63 of my 112 points this week. Nice.

I'm in 3 leagues, all pretty big and all solid from an owner perspective.

The first draft I had was a keeper, 10 team, with IDPs. High performance scoring. This was my lowest first round pick of the 3 leagues...4th (yeah, I was lucky this year) I took Barber and decided to wait on RB2 while I loaded up on WRs. I ended up with T. Jones. Slight regrets as I considered Gore there. Then I took Plummer  again, as my QB. Made a small trade before the first game where I aquired Vick. Thank God. Lastly in this draft I took Koenan with my last pick. UGH. He'll be ejected from the squad immediately. (Edited to add that this is the first year of this league, thus why Barber was pick 4)

Second draft was a 14 teamer, redraft, standard performance. I got the #1 pick in our lottery. I definitely didn't want LJ and I knew I was picking 3rd in my final draft and was likely getting LT so I opted for the "safe" pick...SA. I certainly don't regret it as I think SA still has a great year, but I think LT should have been that pick. I think he's in for a monster year. I took Plummer as my QB1 in this league as well. Not good. The only backup worth drafting at the time was Brunell. So this week I picked up Alex Smith...I think he might be a decent starter in a league where QB is my only REAL weak spot. Lastly I opted for Koenan here as well...see first draft...same thing. Ejectamundo.

Last draft is a 10 team redraft, standard performance. I ended up with a pretty solid team overall...only regret is passing on Coles and taking Rod Smith. Dumb Dumb Dumb...and I'm a Jets fan! Other than that, though, I'm very happy with this team overall. In first place, top scorer, and good depth.

CadillacSteve SmithIf these guys were your 1st and 2nd round picks you'd prolly be worried.
I'm a bit worried but my WRs are Smith, Driver, Coles, and Wilford. My backs are Caddy, Foster, Droughns, Barlow, Pittman, and D Williams. Droughns isn't spectacular but he should be a decent fill-in. When Smith comes back I can start him over Droughns and should be okay.I'm more worried in my keeper league where I took Droughns over D Williams and kept Foster. What a dumb move that was.

I took Lee Evans thinking this would be his breakout season.

I figured since he was on fire at the end of last season and in pre-season he would be a steal. Toss in the fact that I thought Buffalo would be coming from behind.

Hopefully he will come around.

Plummer (backup QB)

Lamont Jordan

Roy Williams (should get better though)

Rod Smith

Michael Clayton

Reggie Brown

I took a huge risk on draft day and drafted both Steve Smith and Clinton Portis.

Needless to say, as of now, it has backfired in a big way.

My only hope, at this point, is that they both can contribute for me before I fall too deeply into a hole (I'm currently 0-2).

Randy Moss over Chad Johnson

That was just plain dumb.

I am still looking at 2-0 provided Matt Jones doesn't run one it or toss a TD...but that Randy Moss pick may be the one that kills my team's Title chances.

Biggest regrets - Todd Heap and Jake Delhomme.

Heap has been fine, but I decided to go stud TE over stud QB in the 5th because of my perception that there was so much more depth at QB I'd be able to get one later in the draft. Well, that later QB turned out to be Delhomme. And the QB I passed on in the 5th...McNabb. :bag:

In your most important, main league..... tell me:

- Which players you regret drafting.

- Which players you flat out wasted a draft pick on.

- Which players you are nervous about.

For me:

Edge in the 1st round - (still VERY nervous about his crappy O-line)

Randy Moss in the 3rd round - (deeply regret the pick)

DeShaun Foster in the 6th round - (thought it was amazing value -- regret the pick)

Chris Brown in the 9th round - (wasted pick)

Mark Brunell in the 12th round - (wasted pick)

Somehow, I'm still 2-0. That won't last if Edge and Moss don't step it up.
UM, My whole draft was a joke aftert months of preperationI took R Brown instead of R Johnson in RD 1 (concerned about offense)

I took Jamal Lewis instead of F Gore in RD 3 (does this need an answer- I had Gore but backed out)

I took T Jones in RD 5 (No TDS and No rushing yet)

R Smith in RD 7 (garbage)

V Morency in RD 8 (what a waste)

J Plummer in RD 9 (worst QB in league. Worst then V Young)

W Lundy in Rd 14 (gamble but wasted)

M Lewis as my TE

My team is 0-2 and the worst in the league

I'm just looking at the first couple rounds of my draft. It's amazing how many of these guys are either crapping the bed completely, or underperforming to a large degree. I think I read here a couple of months ago that more than half of the picks in the first two rounds don't come close to meeting their expectations, and that estimation sounded very high to me. But it appears to be true. No wonder this hobby is so frustrating -- if you swing and miss on your first two picks, it makes the road that much more difficult.

i wondered about this too.anyways...RANDY MOSS. hes not too good so far. thing is, i announced how much i hated the pick as soon as i made it. -biz-

I have Evans, but I don't regret taking him. I still think he will have a great year overall. In a way, it's good that he got his bad games out of the way. His big games are yet to come. Look forward to them.

As for players I do regret taking:

Drew Bledsoe (13.2) -- Didn't really like him, but I listened to the LHUCKS hype *LOL*. First and last time I ever do that. Luckily, I went against the "experts" and listened to my gut feeling and grabbed Vick in all my leagues, so my QB situation is not all bad.

Antonio Gates (2.11) -- Only because I also took Kellen Winslow late and probably could have been fine with just using him all year. If I did not take Gates where I did, I definitely would have taken Randy Moss in his place, so I guess I can't complain too much about that decision.

Rod Smith (10.11) -- Should have taken another top IDP here. Derrick Brooks was still on the board. In retrospect, should have grabbed him and took Moulds late instead.

Other than that, I like my draft. Hindsight is always 20/20.

My main league: 'value' QBs are doing me in -- Plummer/Brooks. Brooks will go soon but there's not much on the WW.

Cadillac has been on the bench so far so he hasn't hurt me (Gore and W.Parker starting with Morency also on the bench)

My #2 league: Culpepper has disappointed, as has Ben Watson but I have decent alternatives so it's not critical. I need to play the alternatives though -- my fault for giving them another to turn things around.
