So Bye B... nm. Look, it got heated. Things happened. Mistakes were made. We cool man, We cool. (1 Viewer)

ETA2 Looks like the world is saved. Political discussions won't be outright banned.  There were casualties... but they died in the name of freedom. And we shall remember and honor their memory.

ETA: Since there appears to be a lack of reading comprehension, this verbal masterpiece is but a musing on a community lost, and a time of our lives gone to the ether of the innernets.  I am not the type to "announce" a goodbye. Sorry to disappoint.  Now, back to the the artful genius of the original post:

So Bye Bye Fantasy Footballguys

Drove Chet's Rover to the River but the river was dry

Them politicking posters eating overrated shepards pie

Typing this'll be the day the FFA dies

This'll be the day the FFA dies

Seriously, this may be the end of the FFA as we know it.  Easily dismissed end of the world threads have certainly happened before.

THIS FEELS DIFFERENT(tm)

If our FFA earth becomes inhabitable (global warming? or don't go there), what landing spots are there to continue the wonderful community that Joe and Dave have cultivated here? LIFE FINDS A WAY

Now I understand
What you tried to say to me
How you suffered for your sanity
How you tried to set them free
They did not listen, They did not know how
Perhaps they'll listen now

See you tomorrow in five minutes.
Oh, this is not an announced goodbye. That's not my style.

More musings on the death of the community that once was.  Needs more Nipsey, that's for sure... maybe that could compensate from thin skinned oppressors hunting down political threads.

So much drama for a grown man. Either respect the owners and post or just leave.  No one really cares at the end of the day.

You all really don't actually read the posts, do you?

Ya know, the part about IF this place becomes...

oy, why bother.  :nipsey:  :wastedbanana:

I don't go into those threads, so I'm glad they all got locked. No need for that crap to muck up the FFA.

 But you tell me
Over and over and over again my friend
Ah, you don't believe
We're on the eve of destruction

They say tragedy comes in threes.

John Glenn.

Alan Thicke.

The FFA.

There is no use disputing it. This is the new, neutered reality.   Orwellian and Kafkaesque.

Hi, I'm Casey Kasem, and you're listening to American Top 40. Today's Long Distance Dedication comes to us from a disgruntled 45 year internet forum poster from Ohio. He writes "Casey, I have a problem. I've been posting on a forum for 15 years. Some of them good. But as with any internet forum people rub people wrong. And it appears the #### has hit the fan. It looks like it's over. And even if it's not, things will never be the same. Can you play a song for me and the other posters of this forum who have lost something that has been so important to us for so long. TIA! Your friend, Politician Spock."

Well Politician Spock, I've got your back. We've all be there and know how you feel. Hang in there and tomorrow will be better. And here is your long distance dedication... Chicago's Hard Habit To Break:

I guess I thought you'd be here forever
Another illusion I chose to create
You don't know what ya got until it's gone
And I found out a little too late

I was acting as if you were lucky to have me
Doin' you a favor I hardly knew you were there
But then you were gone and it was all wrong
Had no idea how much I cared

Now being without you
Takes a lot of getting used to
Should learn to live with it
But I don't want to
Living without you
It's all a big mistake
Instead of getting easier
It's the hardest thing to take
I'm addicted to ya babe
You're a hard habit to break

You found somebody else you had every reason
You know I can't blame you for runnin' to him
Two people together but living alone
I was spreading my love too thin

After all of these years
I'm still tryin' to shake it
Doin' much better they say that I just takes time
But deep in the night it's an endless flight
I can't get ya out of my mind

Now being without you
Takes a lot of getting used to
Should learn to live with it
But I don't want to
Living without you
It's all a big mistake
Instead of getting easier
It's the hardest thing to take
I'm addicted to ya babe
You're a hard habit to break

Being without you
Takes a lot of getting used to
Should learn to live with it
I don't want to
Being without
Is all a big mistake
Instead of getting any easier
It's the hardest thing to take
I'm addicted to you
You're a hard habit to break

We lost Craig Sager this week, so we are set on our three....

Yo Stat

Wassup?

Tell em where you from

Coming straight outta Trump threads, another crazy ### poster

Do your best to discredit my words, and I'll roast ya

I'm a Sarah Palin fan and you know this

My Obama hating rants are better than showbiz

But I don't give a damn I just make my posts

Nah....that's it....that's as far as I want to be in the mind of MC Ren

That tune depresses the crap outta me whenever I hear it.  I actually had to remove it from my playlists. Great tune though.

I kind of agree with Koya. What's the point? I liked this place because any topic could be discussed with a reasonable balance of humor and seriousness. The senseless destruction of discussion and ideas that took place goes against everything that I enjoyed about this site. Saddest day on FBG I can remember and I've been here over 10 years.

Maybe. Just maybe, people should not care so much about the forums on this site. Go discuss things with real live people.

I do but it's more awkward discussing politics or religion with friends and family. It can often lead to nasty consequences. Also it's nice to have a place to test out your ideas. I can say without a doubt I am wiser because of this place. The conversations, arguments, etc. have often made me think and pushed to intellectual places I may not have gone.

What's up with all of the poetry?  That's arguably more tragic than some threads being locked.   In all seriousness--I don't mind them being locked. Those threads were filled with misinformation (some of which was perpetuated by one of the more prominent staff members/owners), trolling, and a lot of degenerate behavior.   Those threads were nothing more than evidence that many FBG's are unable to talk through and about their differences when it comes to political views in a civil manner.  The FFA will probably end up better without those threads in my opinion.

You're not the only the one that agrees with Koya, GB. This is really the saddest day on these boards in the four years or so I've been here.

And I don't think we're similar posters that should get caught up in any net. We're wildly different; we just tend to agree on things.
