In these past few whirlwind years, we've kind of all lost sight of that speculative notion we all used to swear by, the theory of the ball being juiced. We've come to find out the players were, and 98 being an obvious consideration, with 4 guys hitting 50 homers, records not being broken but shattered. 94 was an even more intriguing pace in action when you look back on the years those boys were having. 5 or 6 threats to 61. Taking a look back even further, you have massively skewed and screwy numbers in 1987

Now forgetting the how for now, because exactly how you "juice" a baseball in compartively inconsequential to the act of actually doing it, but a grey enough area to not dismiss out of hand, do you think the ball was juiced at any point in history?

I'm feeling like it was. The players have clearly juiced themselves, but some of these off the chart spikes, especially the post strike boom, never quite sat right. It was obviously a perfect storm if juiced hitters were hitting juiced baseballs and we see the phenomenal totals we have.

There was also the effect that expansion had on the pitching and newer parks being built that were more hitter friendly. All of these combined with very juiced players produced some big numbers, I refuse to believe the ball was juiced.
