So with Vick playing like a Superhero the question after all the on field heroics.

What is his payday going to look like?

He signed a two-year, $6.875 million contract. The deal includes no guarantees. Another $2.75 million is available through incentives based on snaps, passing, receiving, and rushing statistics.

2010: $3.75 million (+ $1.5 million roster bonus picked up 3/9 that converts $1 million of the base salary into a guaranteed payment)

2011: Free Agent

He will be 31 in June.

Philadelphia also has this issue to consider.

Desean Jackson

7/20/2008: Signed a four-year, $3.058 million contract.

The deal included a $1.353 million signing bonus and a $391,000 roster bonus in the second year.

2010: $470,000 (+ $335,000 roster bonus)

2011: $555,000

2012: Free Agent

What are the locals hearing?

Are they going to be able to lock up both players?

PHI is notorious for tremendous FF results.

Any chance one of these guys are NOT in Phily next year?

If Vick isn't signed long-term he'll be franchised.

Desean will get paid, but something about a 30% rule is a sticking point. Not sure what that is, but someone more versed in the CBA can help out.

They've been talking to both agents for some time. From what I hear, there's almost no way Vick isn't going to sign a new contract. The D-Jax thing might go a bit longer (maybe in to the off season) but he'll get paid too.

Hopefully his contract will be big enough to pay back the Falcons the $7m he owes them as well as the rest of his creditors from bankruptcy.

He would be crazy to leave PHI. If PHI makes a reasonable offer, he will stay. The guy is playing the best football of his career and is accepted by fans and team. I have no idea what reasonable is, but they will figure it out and he stays. Unless there is a lockout. And then all bets are off.

What kind of guaranteed money does he see?

This situation is very interesting to me.

Do the Eagles drop 30M guaranteed money into him?

He does 1 stupid thing and his career would be in the toilet again.

He blows a knee out, he is no longer the dynamic threat he is now.

Brady just got 48 million guaranteed, and an 18 million average on a four year deal. My guess is that Vick does get about 30 million guaranteed with something in the neighborhood of 15 million/year. So 4 years 60 million with half guaranteed sounds about right to me. Basically if Vick does suffer a devastating injury, he'll have two years of guaranteed salary. Fair for both sides IMO.Other comparables: Rivers: 6 years/ 92 million with 39 guaranteed in 2009.Roethlisberger: 8 years / 102 with 25 million guaranteed in 2008.

I am from the Philadelphia area. I've heard that Vick will be franchised this upcoming offseason.

Vick is playing out of his mind right now, and the Eagles would have to overpay. By franchising him, he will be another year older, and will not be able to play at this pace all next season, so his value will decrease slightly.

Also Kolb is under contract for cheap in 2011. So the Eagles can keep both QB's on the roster, and have another full year to determine the future of the franchise.

Jackson will also be given an extension, and stay with Philly

No way to know for sure until the new CBA is drawn up. I think it is safe to say that Vick will get the biggest relative contract the new CBA will allow.

How can he be franchised? Franchising is part of the CBA and it expires. Unless a new CBA is signed before Vick's contract ends, and unless that CBA includes a franchise clause, it can't happen.

If the franchise tag survives the new CBA, that will be the route they go for next year unless a favorable deal (for the eagles) can be reached.

Jackson will be signed but it may not be for the amount he thinks he's worth. He's going to be paid very well but he might want top 5 money. The Eagles won't pay him that much.

Sal Paolantonio has reported several times on local radio that he will get franchised if contract talks don't go anywhere.

The CBA expires in March. Franchise tags are placed in February. That allows teams to franchise players if they want to this offseason.
