So who ends up with Adrian Peterson? (1 Viewer)

People that argue about the Bills needing defense more than offense simply because Clements and Fletcher left, need to dig a little deeper.

Youboty should, and likely will, replace Clements. The starting linebackers will be Takeo Spikes, Angelo Crowell, and Keith Ellison. Getting McCargo back from injury, who was starting to play well before said injury, improves the d-line (it still does need work, just not with the #12 pick).

So, while it still may not happen, trading up to acquire Peterson I believe would be a great move for the Bills franchise.

AP to Minnesota is my dream scenario, though. :goodposting:

 welll, except for the AP to Minny part.

I seriously doubt that the Bills put a large package together to move up and get Peterson. IF Peterson makes it past the Texans (and I don't think he will), then maybe the Bills put together some of the picks they got for McGahee and make a push. IF not, then they will hope AD/AP will make it to them. I do not see AD/AP going in the top 5 however (although his talent - and the needs of some of the teams - may suggest he should)

I don't see the Bills taking Lynch at #12. Too many other needs - including OL (if Brown is still there).

But RBs generally fall at draft time since fantasy football GMs are doing the pickiing. Stephen Jackson was supposed to be pciked around 12-15 but fell to around 24. The Benson, Cadillac and Brown picks were unusual.

I look for AD/AP to fall given the needs of the teams and the value at DL at those positions. In any event, AD/AP will not drop past #12.

Based on the pick value chart (I know it's hit-or-miss, but it's all we have to go on), If Buffalo wants to trade up to Washington or Minnesota's spots (1600 & 1500 points respectively), they'd have to give up either their 1st and 2nd (1670 points) or their 1st and both 3rds (1548 points).

If they want to move up to Houston's spot (1400 points), they could get by with a 1st and 3rd.

Houston needed D more than O and look how wrong they were to pass on a player like Bush. I know I'm being biased here, but Peterson is a better RUNNINGBACK than Bush. You don't pass on that kind of talent.

Nasty!
Now mind you I only watched the 1st two minutes (don't have the 8 minutes to watch), but the first highlight was a run then there was about 7-8 plays after that of all at WR. When you compare the two of them running the ball, Peterson is clearly the better runner. So that is why I said that he is the best RUNNINGBACK.

I don't think it is a matter of digging deeper, it is a matter of whether or not the Bills are happy with what they have at defense. Personally I wouldn't be. Youbouty may or may not be ready to start at CB, and depth at the position is thin to say the least. Ditto for depth at LB. They can get by with what they have, but Spikes was not the same after his injury. Beyond depth they could use another playmaker at both positions.McCargo is still an unknown, but the Bills thought enough of him to move up last year and get him so I would assume they are counting on him to produce this year.I wouldn't be opposed to adding help at Oline, but given the contracts they gave out I doubt they will go this route until later in the draft. They still don't have a good #2 WR.I'll reverse my stance and agree that taking a RB at #12 makes sense if he is BPA that meets their needs, but moving up doesn't seem like a good move to me when you need help in many areas.

I can agreee with that. If I were the GM of the Bills, I wouldn't give up any of my picks in the first three rounds. That's a team that's teetering on the edge of being pretty good, and sliding back into the abyss. Another good draft like they had last year and it could get exciting. Giving up one or two picks could really hurt.

Peterson is a solid player. Good power and great home run speed. But Reggie is just ridiculous.
