So who's starting Adrian Peterson Week 1? (1 Viewer)

Even though he's sharing duties with Chester Taylor, anyone see an impressive outing against an average Atlanta D?
Pretty much everyone who owns him should be starting him Week 1 at home vs. ATL. A no-brainer unless you have like 3 other stud RB options.
I have LJ and MJD. I learned my lesson last year. I'm gonna start MJD every week until he proves me otherwise. So the choice is really LJ or AD

So you'll be starting Peterson week 2 instead of week 1. Gotcha. :boxing: :stirspot:

He'll be on my dynasty reserves for at least a few weeks. If he does well and I can get decent trade value for Ronnie Brown or Caddy around Week 4/5 then I'll trade one of them off to make room for him.

Having too much RB depth is such a pain in the ### :moneybag:

Peterson > Ronnie or Caddyright now

Flex spot / 3rd RB along with Reggie Bush and LT (dynasty PPR league). Other options were Kevin Jones (not) Matt Jones and DJ Hackett.

Yeah, but is he better than Westbrook/McGahee (my starters)? I don't think so, not yet anyway. Not much reason to bring him up to active roster until I can put together a trade dealing away Ronnie or Caddy to make room. I'm sure as hell not going to cut either of them.

I'm on the fence. In one PPR league we start 3 RBs, and I have Bush, MJD, Rudi, and AP. I'm THINKING about benching AP just during week 1, to see how he does. What do you Sharks think?

I hope he goes off big time. If so, I'll trade him or LJ.

I'm deciding between him and Lamont Jordan vs DET. Lamont looks like a new man in the preseason and it is Detroit. Hard to say, don't want to turn this into a A/C thread

Starting him over Tater and Chester. CT may get the first play, but I think this will be the first on many games in which he is outplayed by AP. His days as the "starter" are numbered.

One score and near a hundred total yards is my hope for AP's debut. Anything more than that would be awesome, but I'm not expecting it.

People who had the guts to draft AP and CJ2 even if they had to "overpay" will be greatly rewarded this season. Most rookies take time to make and impact, but these two are very unlike most rookies. They'll show everyone soon enough.

I'm thinking of starting him over Fred Taylor.
 Not me, brother. Freddy T. is gonna TEAR UP the Titans. They'll want to run it even more to make Garrard comfortable.I'm starting Freddy and Edge... sitting A-Pete, C. Taylor and Benson.

Call me crazy, but for week 1 I like Chester Taylor over Adrian Peterson. This RBBC is unknown as far the number of carries, and coach has said Taylor is the starter. He had over 1200 yeards last year, and I think he will get the benefit of the doubt to show what he has, atleast in week 1.

I wouldn't seel safe with peterson, same as Marshawn Lynch and Bjax, atleast for week 1.

Starting Chester over Lynch and MB3.

I'm faced with the same AD vs. Portis choice in my main dynasty league, am heavily leaning towards Portis at this point.

Sjax is obviously penciled in then it's 2 out of (2rb+flex league) Bush, AD, Portis.

I have Gore and Maroney starting in my dynasty league, though I would love to test out my new toy RB in Minn. I can't see starting Peterson over those two yet.
Yea I think Im going Gore, Maroney, Fitz, and Roy, but Im actually considering giving Peterson a look. I dunno who I would take out though, have to start at least one WR...and I also have Freddy Taylor and MJD against the Titans which is enticing

12 Team Money League, and I am starting him over Caddy at RB2.

I went RB, WR, WR, AD and then Caddy in the 5th round, from the 7 spot.

I am pretty confident that AD will outscore Caddy this week, but I am not gonna hesitate to bench him if the RBBC starts to get ugly AND Caddy has any kind of a breakout season. I hardly expect that will be the case, comparing the two Olines and add in AD's talent, barring injury I will be starting him every week.

Call me crazy--I'd like to be comfortable drafting Peterson early (4th) in a redraft, but just don't see the love for a guy who's a rookie in a RBBC with a lousy passing game. But I hope the best for him and you all starting him.

Maurice Jones-Drew was in a similar spot last season. He did pretty well and I think Peterson is a much more talented RB than Jones-Drew. The one thing I believe the Vikings can do offensively is run the ball. Taylor ran well last season and their offensive line is strong and powerful in the running game. I don't know how the carries will be divided up between the two of them but I feel confident in believing Peterson will be heavily involved right from the outset. It's not like the Vikings have a ton of other playmakers they can rely on.

Deciding between:

SJax

Portis

Harrison

Roy

Evans

or...

SJax

Portis

Peterson

Harrison

Roy

I drafted AD as a flex, so I am definitely playing him.

SJax, MJD, and AD (Flex)

Should be an interesting season, esp. since I took a flyer on CJ2 and I figured I'd start him too!

I won't start ADP until he is getting most of the carries.I'll start J.Lewis or S.Holmes in my

Flex instead.My starters are R.Bush and C.Benson.

Going with Ahman Green until I see how carries come Peterson's way. Figure I'll start Green at the beginning of the year while his body still holds up, then switch over to Peterson once he takes over more carries.

I also have the AD vs Caddy choice and unless there is news between now and game time I am going with AD.

I like the home game for Minn.

I spent a high pick on him, so it is time he start producing now.

I just don't see how you guys are so confident to start him this early. I drank the kool-aid and spent a fairly high draft pick on him as well, but I think you have to wait and see how things play out with him and Chester first. Unless I am missing something (and believe me, I hope I am) - he will at best split carries 50/50 with Chester.

It's possible 50/50 is all he needs to put up RB2 numbers. In his last pre-season game wasn't he like 8 carries for 70 yards and a TD? Yeah, I know it was only pre-season, but still...

I'm starting him. I'd be happy with 12-15 touches, especially if a couple of those come inside the ten. I have a good feeling he'll get the touches down there and that's really the deciding factor for me... I think he's a good bet to score and rack up 70-90 total yards... So into the lineup he goes over Ronnie Brown, who'll probably put up similar/more yards but plays for an offense that rarely makes it inside the opponents twenty...

 You've got to believe the Vikings are going to run it 35-40 times against the Falcons. AD gets 15 touches minimum.

starting him over Jamal @ Pitt....Can't bear to start 2 Brownies (Braylon) vs. Pitt with "French Frye" at QB...

AD vs Caddy for me too and I've had AD in the line-up all week. Were this just about any matchup other than vs Atlanta at home, I'd probably go Caddy. But you have to figure that Childress wants to run upwards of 40 times and the Falcons won't be able to put up enough points to force Jackson to throw. With 40 team carries, I like close to half going to Peterson and that's enough to warrant a start over Caddy.

That's an interesting thought...I'd be surprised if Taylor toted the ball down inside the 10 and then got pulled for the rookie. I know Dallas does it w/ MBIII, but I just don't see a rook getting that kind of love over the vet...at least until the vet proves he can't punch it in.
