I have LJ and MJD. I learned my lesson last year. I'm gonna start MJD every week until he proves me otherwise. So the choice is really LJ or ADPretty much everyone who owns him should be starting him Week 1 at home vs. ATL. A no-brainer unless you have like 3 other stud RB options.Even though he's sharing duties with Chester Taylor, anyone see an impressive outing against an average Atlanta D?
So you'll be starting Peterson week 2 instead of week 1. Gotcha.I have LJ and MJD. I learned my lesson last year. I'm gonna start MJD every week until he proves me otherwise. Peterson > Ronnie or Caddyright nowHe'll be on my dynasty reserves for at least a few weeks. If he does well and I can get decent trade value for Ronnie Brown or Caddy around Week 4/5 then I'll trade one of them off to make room for him. Having too much RB depth is such a pain in the ###![]()
Yeah, but is he better than Westbrook/McGahee (my starters)? I don't think so, not yet anyway. Not much reason to bring him up to active roster until I can put together a trade dealing away Ronnie or Caddy to make room. I'm sure as hell not going to cut either of them.Peterson > Ronnie or Caddyright nowHe'll be on my dynasty reserves for at least a few weeks. I hope he goes off big time. If so, I'll trade him or LJ.So you'll be starting Peterson week 2 instead of week 1. Gotcha.I have LJ and MJD. I learned my lesson last year. Luckily we can start 4 RB in the league I'm in, so it's SJax, Bush, MJD, Peterson-QGPretty much everyone who owns him should be starting him Week 1 at home vs. ATL. I'm thinking of starting him over Fred Taylor.
Not me, brother. Freddy T. is gonna TEAR UP the Titans. They'll want to run it even more to make Garrard comfortable.I'm starting Freddy and Edge... sitting A-Pete, C. Taylor and Benson.http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index...p;#entry7234012I'm going to buy a faux-Viking helmet at a costume shop and an AP jersey this weekend. At the sports bar I'll be the guy raising my arm & shouting "VICTORY!" every time he gets a first down.thinking about starting either Deuce against INDY or Peterson for my flex spot. Tough call here...
Yea I think Im going Gore, Maroney, Fitz, and Roy, but Im actually considering giving Peterson a look. I dunno who I would take out though, have to start at least one WR...and I also have Freddy Taylor and MJD against the Titans which is enticingI have Gore and Maroney starting in my dynasty league, though I would love to test out my new toy RB in Minn. I can't see starting Peterson over those two yet.
I am too. It's a bit of a toss up though as I expect similiar numbers from each.I'm starting him as my RB2 instead of MB3.
Call me crazy--I'd like to be comfortable drafting Peterson early (4th) in a redraft, but just don't see the love for a guy who's a rookie in a RBBC with a lousy passing game. But I hope the best for him and you all starting him.Call me crazy, but for week 1 I like Chester Taylor over Adrian Peterson. This RBBC is unknown as far the number of carries, and coach has said Taylor is the starter. He had over 1200 yeards last year, and I think he will get the benefit of the doubt to show what he has, atleast in week 1.I wouldn't seel safe with peterson, same as Marshawn Lynch and Bjax, atleast for week 1.Starting Chester over Lynch and MB3.
Maurice Jones-Drew was in a similar spot last season. He did pretty well and I think Peterson is a much more talented RB than Jones-Drew. The one thing I believe the Vikings can do offensively is run the ball. Taylor ran well last season and their offensive line is strong and powerful in the running game. I don't know how the carries will be divided up between the two of them but I feel confident in believing Peterson will be heavily involved right from the outset. It's not like the Vikings have a ton of other playmakers they can rely on.Call me crazy--I'd like to be comfortable drafting Peterson early (4th) in a redraft, but just don't see the love for a guy who's a rookie in a RBBC with a lousy passing game.Call me crazy, but for week 1 I like Chester Taylor over Adrian Peterson. Same heredittoMight start him over Portis. Gonna wait to see what info is available closer to gameday.
Here too (in one league anyway, I still have two drafts to go). I gotta start 3 RB's, so Portis, Peterson, and Lamont will be weekly gametime decisions for me.dittoMight start him over Portis. Gonna wait to see what info is available closer to gameday.
It's possible 50/50 is all he needs to put up RB2 numbers. In his last pre-season game wasn't he like 8 carries for 70 yards and a TD? Yeah, I know it was only pre-season, but still...I just don't see how you guys are so confident to start him this early. I drank the kool-aid and spent a fairly high draft pick on him as well, but I think you have to wait and see how things play out with him and Chester first. Unless I am missing something (and believe me, I hope I am) - he will at best split carries 50/50 with Chester.
I'm starting him. I'd be happy with 12-15 touches, especially if a couple of those come inside the ten. I have a good feeling he'll get the touches down there and that's really the deciding factor for me... I think he's a good bet to score and rack up 70-90 total yards... So into the lineup he goes over Ronnie Brown, who'll probably put up similar/more yards but plays for an offense that rarely makes it inside the opponents twenty...I just don't see how you guys are so confident to start him this early. Me too.AD vs Caddy for me too and I've had AD in the line-up all week. Were this just about any matchup other than vs Atlanta at home, I'd probably go Caddy. But you have to figure that Childress wants to run upwards of 40 times and the Falcons won't be able to put up enough points to force Jackson to throw. With 40 team carries, I like close to half going to Peterson and that's enough to warrant a start over Caddy.I also have the AD vs Caddy choice and unless there is news between now and game time I am going with AD.I like the home game for Minn.
That's an interesting thought...I'd be surprised if Taylor toted the ball down inside the 10 and then got pulled for the rookie. I know Dallas does it w/ MBIII, but I just don't see a rook getting that kind of love over the vet...at least until the vet proves he can't punch it in.I'm starting him.
