Lots of whispers and rumblings that something might be cooking in these meetings. Could we get football by July?

FWIW: League sent memo to teams last night, advising them to be prepared to stay overnight during next Tuesday's NFL meetings in Chicago.

Scheftner (one of the primary to report this) saysthe voting could take place without a deal in principle being in place. I.e. the owners could vote on what they think a deal could be, then if it works out close to it, the voting is already done if/when the players agree.

more good news though. The more smoke that surrounds the talks, the more likely that a fire will start and a deal gets done

Good, cuz I want the unhardcore to get serious about leagues again. lolReally sets the league up to have to get something done. If they have a step backwards now, us fans would revolt even more, now that we have hope again.
