Some good analysis here (1 Viewer)

I did not know that Fisher and Chow both did not want Vince Young. How could either of them have their hearts into the job now.

Q...Are the Tennessee Titans the worst team in football?Quite possibly but that can be debated for now I guess. What is not debatable, however, is that the Titans seem headed in the wrong direction more than any other team.
Could there have possibly been a more wrong statement? His credibility stops right there.

Not sure I agree with your comment. First he said it was debatable so that leaves some wiggle room. At the time the Titans seemed to makes some questionable moves. Many folks had Leinart and Cutler labled as better pro prospects that Young as well. They didn't handle McNair well at all. Heck, he was not allowed to workout at their facility. And they they left alot of doubt in the head coach situation as well. So at the time I agreed with what was said.Hind sight is always 20/20. Sometimes people are wrong on their assessments. Not sure they lose their credibility for being wrong on some.If you think about it, if he had said (at the time) that the Titans are making all the right moves and pushing all the right buttons, we'd of said he was nuts and had questionable credibility. But now we'd say he was a genius.

I freaking love your last comment. That's how it often is with me in these forums. I know I say off-the-wall comments that fly in the face of conventional wisdom, and you're right people question my credibility for it. But I get a heckuva lot more right than I get wrong around here. But the emotional swings of some posters in the FFA can't see that and possibly even dismiss me as a troll. You completely understand me now.

How important are statistics in football?Football statistics are very misleading and often do not paint an accurate picture of the player or team, so keep that in mind when people use stats to support their arguments. It's important to interpret the stats correctly and understand what they truly mean. For instance, average rushing yards per carry are important but do not tell you all you need to know about a running back's performance. Rather, the numbers might more accurately reflect the team's overall offensive performance. Average yard per carry is affected by offensive line play, quarterback play and passing game ability. Running against seven-man fronts is entirely different than running versus eight-man fronts. This is why so many teams run out of the spread formation. You often see a poor defensive unit rank fairly well in pass defense. This is the result of teams running the ball up and down against them and not needing to pass as much. Yards are overrated. Points are obviously the key. Turnover ratio, red zone efficiency, explosive plays (runs of 10 yards or more and passes of 20 yards or more), and third-down efficiency are the most important statistics that affect winning and losing.
Ding dong... a no brainer but some could profit in the arguement department with this.

But he also said this:

That is the statement that was completely incorrect. Some would argue that of the "bad" teams, the Titans are the ones most headed in the RIGHT direction.
