Someone has to get 100 yards on the ground Vs. SF (1 Viewer)

Someone will break SF's streak of not allowing a 100 yard rusher. Why not Beanie this week? Willis will be out. Beanie has been up and down but recently had 228 yards in a game and some TD's. If not Beanie, then who will be the RB that breaks the streak?

I like Beanie, but I wouldn't put money on him scoring or going over 100 yards. He did average over 4 ypc against the 49ers in their last meeting, but only had 8 carries. If the Cardinals keep it close there's always a chance.

ETA: Honestly, I just hope he makes it through the game healthy so he can torch the Browns in week 15.

1. I *just* sat down to post a related question

2. Make it a poll

3. The under-100 yards bit is great, but I'm more intrigued by which team scores a rushing TD on SF:

Cardinals

Steelers

Seahawks

Rams

I would say either Steelers because of their overall offense or Seattle because Marshawn is running hot right now

I think that Marshawn Lynch in week 16 has a much more realistic shot than Beanie.

Beanie completely disappears against solid competition.

That's incorrect. Here is what Beanie has done against current playoff contenders (I assume that would be a safe definition of solid competition).Week 4: Giants 27-138-3Week 7: Pittsburgh 12-42-0 in one half/got hurtWeek 8: Baltimore 22-83-1Week 11: 49ers 8-33-0He's only faced four playoff-contending teams but he's produced one excellent fantasy game, one good one (against a strong run defense) and was headed for a good game against the Steelers before getting hurt. The only solid team that's shut him down is the one he faces this week. Beanie's been very good this season but the matchup is absolutely brutal.

While Willis is the 49ers best player and very important to the team, the team without him did hold Steven Jackson to 19 yards so they can hold the fort down against the run while Willis is out.

If Willis is out for the Niners, does Beanie have a legit shot here?
He has a shot. I would not put money on it happening. Bowman has been possibly better than Willis this year. Losing Willis will hurt but the rest of the players (including linebackers) are very good. And Larry Grant (Willis' replacement) did a fine job filling in last week (deep idp leagues may want to grab him).Someone will of course rush for 100+ against this team. And someone will score a rushing touchdown against them as well. But imo there's a very slim chance it's going to happen this weekend with Beanie. It's not like the rest of the offense is so good SF will be overwhelmed with guys to cover.

Niners need to tread carefully in this game. Cards are a different team at home and niners are w/o willis and possibly a bit overconfident after clinching the West beating up on a beat up Rams team at home.

I agree. Not only is Marshawn running well but the 49ers are probably going to be locked into the #2 seed by week 16. Not that the Seahawks will be playing for anything either but I think the situation is favorable. I can see 32 carries for 105 yards or something along those lines in a 10-7 49ers victory.

that's not entirely true that sf shut him down even though total yds is obviously horrible.he was averaging 4+ ypc on very limited carries, but never got a chance because their back up qb kept throwing picks (and beanie fumbled one away, himself).sf wasn't making great headway on the scoreboard in the first half, and this time around beanie owners have to hope kolb can not only keep them in the game, but avoid turning the ball over, which ensures beanie more touches.I certainly don't think it's a very good week for him, but not hopeless.

No way are the Niners overconfident. Not as long as Harbaugh is the coach. They will be ready, and as someone else mentioned, Willis' backup Grant seems to be a good understudy and played very well last week. As long as #53 is out there we will be okay until Willis can play.

If anyone has a shot it's Mendenhall. That's the only game I see the 49ers could bpossibly be behind in. All the other games, teams are going to be passing to play chatch-up.

Wouldn't say Bowman has been better. Bowman's been a tackling machine, but mostly because the scheme has called for it. Willis has still been a total stud: Solos: Willis - 71 [6th], Bowman 86 [1st]Total: Willis - 93 [15th], Bowman 110 [5th]Sacks: Willis - 2, Bowman - 0PDs: Willis - 13, Bowman - 0 (Willis is tied for 19th here, but that includes DBs. The next closest LB is ranked 46th [urlacher & Clay Matthews]Ints: Willis - 1, Bowman - 0FFs: Willis - 4, Bowman - 0 (Willis tied for 3rd, Avril and Sheard have 5)If there's an impact on the Niner's D, it'll more likely be felt in the passing game. Given that, can any non-Card's fan name the starting TE for ARI?Only chance ARI will have in the game is if Grant can't cover the ARI TE, and the Niner's have to help with a safety, which would free up Fitz. If Grant can do what Willis has done in coverage (covering TEs 1 on 1), then the Niners will be able to do what they did against Megatron, Lloyd and Fitzgerald in round 1, and keep Whitner doubled on him the whole game.
