Something Appears Wrong w/Brees (1 Viewer)

I'm not sure that Brees is fully recovered from the dislocated elbow he suffered in the Pro Bowl. This guy looked very suspect when trying to throw any pass longer than 10-12 yards downfield. Or it could be an accumulation effect of the previous (severe) shoulder injury combined with the dislocated elbow that has deteriorated his arm strength more than people are willing to admit. From what I witnessed, and I watched this game carefully (Tivo junkie), this guy does not look good.

He may not be healthy? Or he may not ever be the same?

Looks like his best bet is to copycat Rich Gannon's last few successful seasons in Oakland and do a whole lot of dinks & dunks at a high completion rate in order to pile up the (fantasy) stats.

Am I jumping the gun and the only one thinking this or is there something to this suspicion?

Maybe he had a career year last year? Maybe he had a bad night? Maybe he just sucks?

I thought he dislocated his non-throwing elbow. What would that have to do with arm strength?

I think the lack of zip had more to do with continually throwing off his back foot all night.

I think your right. He could care less about this NFL season and Nolo's future. All that matters to him is dinks and dunks so he wins his fantasy matchup. He just wants short quick passes because he gets points per completion.

You made a ridiculous post sir.

He looked razor sharp in preseason and was zinging strikes 25 yards downfield. I agree he looked badly hungover last night.

We're already over 5% of the way into this season. I say let's go ahead and make sweeping generalizations, draw firm conclusions, and generally just run amok with unjustified inductive reasoning. Who's with me!

I usually wait until we are 6 1/4% thru the season before I jump to conclusions.

his coaches ought to be publically flogged for their gameplan but Brees will be fine

any coach who doesnt pound the run against Indy ought to give back his coach of the year award

I have a theory that will easily be proven or disproven after the Bears-Chargers game this Sunday.

Rex Grossman has stolen Drew's 'MOJO'. :goodposting:

If Rex throws all over the vaunted Chargers this Sunday then it must be true - right?

Aaahhh, vanity. Perhaps Drew should have left that mole alone. Sorta like when Sampson loses his strength after getting his hair snipped...

In Brees' defense, it is tough to get much zip on the ball when you throw it while moving backward.

Brees had several bad clunkers last year too, but after the season everyone rates him near the top. Just because its the first game, its being magnified. All the Qb's- except maybe Manning:-) are going to have a week or two where they are off. He'll be fine.....
