PreOrders First Wave Closes Today at 6PM ET! Something Fun Announcing Monday. Would Love Your Support (1 Viewer)

Holding out for the swimsuit edition.
Will cargo shorts suffice? :oldunsure:
That's probabaly as close as we'll get. ;)

You know what you need? A FBG Calendar with dorks like us in our cargo shorts and New Balance sneakers. You'll sell tens!
I'm imagining the look on my wife's and kids' faces if I hung a calendar like this up in the kitchen.

ETA: the pic of GM needs to be taken just inside the doors of a Best Buy.

Ordered! If only for nostalgia. But I’m excited.

Thank you! I do find myself drawn to the nostalgia part.

We went with nicer paper and a larger 9x12 size too as I wanted it to be as good as possible. Less profitable, but I like it better this way.
Joe, any idea how many companies are still mass-marketing print copies?

I think there are maybe 5 or 6 others in addition to us. it's a narrower field than it used to be but they seem pretty strong. It's still a very competitive space and we're definitley feeling pressure to deliver a high quality product.

Bought one. Always happy to support you @Joe Bryant

Thank you, GB. The response from the forums has been amazing. Thank you.
It's a great impulse buy (this thread = exhibit A). Any chance these will hit Barnes & Noble or other brick and mortars? I'd nonchlantly place one on top of the tables featuring new release books if I had the opportunity.

Thank you @Mister CIA. No chance this year as it'll be online only. The retail magazine space is surprisingly complicated. There are "buy pads" and other restrictions that make getting on the shelf difficult. And then the accounting for how you're paid has always been a little leery to me. Since our DNA as a company is online, we felt most comfortable this year going online sales only.

But I absolutely agree with you it can be an impulse buy at a book store or grocery store. We're missing those sales.

Shipping around August 4th? Isn't that about the same time the FBGs contest opens? Worker production tanking that week.

I am joking, I hope no one takes this serious.

Ordered - $20 is pretty steep for a magazine, but since I'm a freeloader on these boards, I figured I can view it as "rent" for using the FFA.

You're no freeloader! You contribute a ton to the forums.

And the pricing was a challenge.

Someone else asked me how we landed on $20. Like most of what we do, it was me and seat of the pants.

I knew the going price for annual fantasy football magazines seems to be around the $15 mark. My thinking was to make something that I hope is nicer with higher quality paper, larger in format (we went with non standard 9"x12" size) and more pages (160 pages. Not counting the cover, inside cover, inside back cover and back cover)

Did we price it right? LIke most things, and like I've said here, I don't know if we're doing it right. We're just trying to do what we think is right.

So we'll see!

And thank you for buying a copy @Dr. Octopus

In fairness I haven’t bought a magazine in like 10 years so I wasn’t even aware the “normal” price was $15, so this isn’t really expensive in that light.

They were around $7 the last time I bought one.

The Chick-fil-a cow makes $25 an hour now, that was only $7 an hour the last time I bought a magazine.

Ordered. Starting a simple family redraft league this year, and my 13YO son is going to give FF a whirl for the first time ever. He's a numbers geek like myself and will love this.
