South Park season 14 (1 Viewer)

I haven't seen whatever this episode was based on, but still thought it was pretty good.

Thoughts on last night? I think it was one of those that you had to see the movie and be involved in at least one convo to get. I liked Inception, but thought the parody of them explaining it was awesome. "It's confusing so it's cool!" The randomness of Matt Hasselback being in it was pretty funny too.I still wish we could get an episode with all four of the kids involved for the whole time. I guess the jersey one kind of did that but not enough.
So there's a big kerfuffle that they apparently took entire bits from a CollegeHumor parody of Inception. Except the writers never actually saw Inception, they just based their parody on the existing parody. This is incredibly lazy and sad.

South Park apologizes for stealing dialogueThey claim it was an honest mistake because they assumed that the CollegeHumor used the actual lines from the film. :lmao:
I see why this is making the rounds on blogs, but frankly, the dialogue wasn't even the best part of the episode. The therapist supplying the background stole the show.

I understand that. That they accidentally nicked something but then came clean and owned up to it isn't a big deal IMO. But not bothering to see the source material that you're going to parody for an entire episode is...incredibly lazy and sad.

I think they saw it, they just didn't have it on DVD to reference?

When Mr. Parker and Mr. Stone could not find a movie theater showing “Inception,” and were unable to get a DVD screener of the film (or find a watchable version on BitTorrent), they turned to other parodies of that film on the Web, and found the CollegeHumor video.

Coon and Friends....classic episode IMO. :moneybag:
I was really starting to worry that they'd lost their fastball this season, and I wasn't too happy to see another Coon episode either. But it was great. Definitely best of the year IMO.Tony Heyward naked on the bear rug was a nice touch. As was the name change to DP.

I actually was kind of down on the Coon episode for some reason, but the Clockwork Orange reference was awesome. One of those cool moments where it just felt like it'd fit perfectly and then next scene there it was.

Also laughed pretty hard at the DP

Considering I actually though by now they had hired writers and didn't do their own writing anymore, I give them a pass on something like this.

I thought this episode was pretty terrible save for the name change to DP which made me chuckle. But yeah this season has been so bad. :goodposting:

I chuckled though most of this episode, but I have to admit that I didn't get a lot of the jokes. It all seemed kind of random. Is there gonna be a part 2 to this? Cuz it ended kind of abruptly.

Has anyone else seen My Neighbor Totoro? It's a Japanese anime children's movie by Hayao Miyazaki (the Japanese Walt Disney). Totoro is a must see for anyone with children. Seriously, it's a "run, don't walk" type of film.

They're making a hysterical play on Totoro with the relationship between Cartman and Cthulhu. I'm super seriously here you guys, it's good stuff, but if you haven't seen Totoro it probably seems like nothing.

I kind of loved the Looney Tunes reference and that the kid kind of looked like Matthew Sweet. If you ever wanted to hit someone in the '90s, it was probably Matthew Sweet.

I thought the season was brilliant up until last night. Not a fan of Nathan/Mimsy. Did love the ripping on Musk and McConeghy

I got a couple of these Totoro cups as gifts (2 different ones in green) and they are pretty cute. The reviews are correct - regular ceramic and not bone china.
