South Park season 14 (1 Viewer)

Meh. I didn't laugh once. Usually "South Park" is right on top of the pop culture pulse, but NASCAR references are sooooooo 2004.

Agreed. I thought it was one of the weaker episodes in a long time. Basically just one running joke. It was funny for a minute or two.

Totally agree with you guys, I didn't really laugh at all and got bored with it pretty quick.

The best part of the episode was the vagisil guy referring to his wife as his inspiration, but they even wore that joke out.

NASCAR episode was easily the worst south park episode yet. JC.
I've never wanted to turn off an episode of South Park so badly before.
Is it me or is Cartman's voice off? Even before he starts speaking w/ the lame twang. It was off.
I noticed it too. He's not as raspy a he used to be. He was even raspier in the first few seasons.
This episode just seemed thrown together at the last minute. Tons of non sequitors which are funny sometimes but they are not really South Park's speciality.

Would have been better with an angry Mel Gibson saving them or something instead of the 9/11 stuff, that is a place even south park shouldn't go

Ugh. Another swing and a miss. Season 14 is easily the worst yet.

The episodes on some hot pop culture trend that obviously has an expiration date on it almost always fail, dating all the way back to Chipokomon. The best stuff in the last few years is either political, like Margaritaville and Dances with Smurfs, or just hilarious catchphrase fun, like Butters' Bottom lady friend.

I thought the episode had some good moments (my wife claims that I said "it's a Jersey thing" as recently as Saturday). The 9/11 bit at the end completely ruined the episode for me though.

 The chipokomon episode was great.

I thought it was pretty funny too. Yeah the 9/11 stuff was a little ridiculous but most South Park is. You can't watch South Park without them offending someone, and that's one reason I like it. They do stuff that people are thinking but won't say. Was NASCAR offensive? For sure. Do people think that way? For sure. Doesn't mean it's right, but they love taking sterotypes and blowing them into huge crazy stories.

I loved the Snooki and Real Housewives parody's. In general when all the kids are involved I like more than just one or two, like NASCAR episode. Still, both episodes have been entertaining to me.

And yeah, Chipokomon is one of the most classic episodes ever. Still just hilarious to this day.

 The chipokomon episode was great.
We'll have to agree to disagree. To me, there's nothing especially clever or interesting about pointing out that Pokemon and Jersey-based reality TV stars are annoying. Especially when they can brilliantly satire economic policy like they did in Margaritaville, which has to be one of the great episodes of any TV show ever. It's crazy to me that the same two guys did both. Don't get me wrong, it's still better than a night watching Two and a Half Men or something. I guess I just expect too much from them.

Yeah, that's fine, I hated the Britney episode, people seem to love it so everyone has different tastes. I agree Margaritaville was an awesome episode. I think Chipokomon was better than last night's easily. It was more than just pointing out how annoying it is (which I feel was the Jersey one), it's taking a fad and making it into a typical South Park where the children put the world at risk type thing. I just think that episode was so creative. And c'mon, how do you not want to go out and buy "Shoe"?!

I do agree, I think most South Park fans, including me, expect too much from them, not every episode will be a home run.

I think Margaritaville is basically the smoking hot ex-girlfriend of South Park. Everything that follows suffers by comparison.

Two misses so far.
 I thought it was pretty funny."There are three things I hate... I call them the three J's: Jews, Jersey and Ginger".GB Cartman's illiterate, racist ###......
It was waaaaaaay better than the NASCAR episode. I'm not sure how they ####ed up having an episode centering around Butters and Cartman, the two best characters.I wasn't even offended by the 9/11 thing. That was really the only thing that saved this episode. I'll give them next week, but it looks like they're about to get put into the Simpson's bin.

wow you guys are tough critics. I thought this was a great episode. but I also live in Long Island, so any guido parodies are extra appreciated by me.

Yeah. I fully agree. I would expect Matt and Trey to air a Columbine spoof next.-QG

Thoughts on last night? I think it was one of those that you had to see the movie and be involved in at least one convo to get. I liked Inception, but thought the parody of them explaining it was awesome. "It's confusing so it's cool!" The randomness of Matt Hasselback being in it was pretty funny too.

I still wish we could get an episode with all four of the kids involved for the whole time. I guess the jersey one kind of did that but not enough.

Agree completely.I liked Inception as well, but I didn't think it was the second coming like many did (who I think many (of course not any FBG)) fall into the "it's so confusing it's cool" camp

The therapist providing the background was incredible. When he used the sheep instead of the BWAAAM, I just about lost it. The ending was perfect as well.

I just rewatched it between periods of watching a hockey game last night, and I think it's one of the better episodes in a while. I was laughing from start to finish. The background guy was hilarious, and Mackey as a kid is classic.
