Spelling Bee Fail (1 Viewer)

I always feel bad for these kids. Most look to have some mild form of aspergers and this is all they know.

That said, lol.

Yeah. I guess it's kind of like their version of sports, and this poor kid just had a Bill Buckner moment....or maybe more accurately a Leon Lett moment with the premature celebration.

Sadly, it's tough to go pro and make millions at spelling. :kicksrock:

:lmao:

TURN DOWN FOR "whatttttt???"
There's a button for that. LOLhttp://www.td4wbutton.com

ETA: Can't stop clicking this.
Me either...It's very addictive. I am glad I'm working at home b/c this would've been loud in the cube today.

ETA: To completely de-rail this thread (Spelling Bee to Little Jon...quite a turn), the VIDEO for this song is hilarious...Best part is 1:17 and the look on the faces of the people below...

Any reason these kids can't be asked to spell actual English words? Everything seems to be foreign nouns with absolutely no use in actual English speech.

...

BTW, what word did the kid in the OP miss? Can't see the video. TIA

I was dying laughing while watching this last night. That kid was pissing me off. He jumped up and down and squealed like a little girl who just got a pony for her birthday every time he got a word right. But then I started feeling a little bad for making fun of him because I'm sure he's somewhere on the autistic scale.

That being said, it was absolutely hysterical. That poor kid is just never going to have any friends. He's just too weird. When you're the weirdest kid at the spelling bee, you're in major trouble. Some of others seemed somewhat normal even though they likely have very odd parents who home school them.

He seemed to take the feedback well. He was completely ridiculous up until that point, but when he was told the correct spelling, he seemed to act like, "Oh, shoot, that makes sense. Should of had that."

My guess is that, at this point, English words are all too easy. Some of these kids (especially the Indian ones) are basically the product of spelling "factories." They practice all day, every day. That's why so many are home-schooled. I'm not sure what the obsession is for some families with spelling. I mean, we have computers now that overcome the fact that I can't spell "dendrochronological."

Yeah, it's kind of sad. But the odds are that the worst part of his day was when his mashed potatoes and peas touched on his plate.
