can someone explain the process here again? I don't remember how this is supposed to work.

I just took all the teams with 4 next to their name. I thought if you got knocked out early enough you got demoted, or stayed in ssl4

what happens to someone who made the final 2 in SSL3?

You get to face me and the rest in SSL I. I think the way the ladder was set up was that all league winners and runner's up (except maybe in 4) get you into the number 1.

Updated...number to the left of your name is the league you'll be in. I'll begin getting this organized about 2 weeks before the NFL draft, starting with league 1. If we have dropouts in league one, I'll fill those spots by moving people up slated to be in league two. League one will begin drafting the Monday after the NFL draft. The other leagues will follow in order. I will as start an alternate thread to fill any remaining positions left in league 4.

im not putting all the effort into organizing but seems like people are only rewarded or penalized based on last years performance. seems like league 1 would be more prestegious if it wasnt just based on last years performance.

Fiddles, I agree, but we just started the ladder process last year, so I don't think we can go back and fudge the participants now - surprised that no one suggested it last year when previous year's winners could have been granted dispensations, but now I think we just go forward with what we have.

Fiddles, I agree, but we just started the ladder process last year, so I don't think we can go back and fudge the participants now - surprised that no one suggested it last year when previous year's winners could have been granted dispensations, but now I think we just go forward with what we have.

I think this was discussed last year and many felt that they didn't want the process set up like No Mercy where it can take you more than 5 or 6 years to reach the top. There's trade offs each way but I would think that most people want a shot at the top league each year instead of needing great multiple consecutive years to get there.

Prestegious? We're talking about a game here, that is based in great part upon luck, despite our tendencies to emphasize the "skill" element involved.

Here's an interesting "performance" statistic...The final two teams in the four leagues represent 12% of the total teams. Those teams had 75% of the Tiki Barber's and 75% of the Shaun Alexander's. The level of competition between the four leagues is so miniscule that actual performance over "status" should be the primary factor.
