So you buy them through the Cubs? I did not know you could do that. I did not want to wait in line today so I am waiting for 12:00 to purchase on line.Got my Cub/Sox tickets as soon as they went on sale by purchasing online. Want to say the Tuesday/Wednesday before last (Jan 8 or 9? I believe). About a week after the online ticket sale date, you could go to the Hohokam Stadium box office to purchase them in person if you wanted. (Whether they held an allotted (sp) amount back for the box office ticket sales, I'm not sure (always just purchased online).I'm sure every team works differently, but that's how the Cubs do their ticket sales. Edit: It looks like you're correct for the D-backs. Go on sale 2 hours prior at their ticket office. I'm sure they'll still be many available for even the Cubs/Dbacks when they reach online. Silly to wait out in the cold today![]()

The paper here says the Rockies have been selling theirs for a while to. I guess I should have gone through them. I just assumed all the teams did it the same day.Yeah, through their team website. I rarely make the two hour trip down to Tucson - just takes too much out of my day....but if you get up to NW valley - I go to Surprise Stadium every day and often to Peoria or Maryvale, let me know.Another thing we might be able to do - would probably be hard for everyone to schedule - but the Dodgers will play a few "home" spring training games in Phoenix - at the Oakland facility. (they also have one in Maryvale and one in Surprise among others - not sure they are going to Tucson). So anyone coming to Tucson for Spring Training? We could set up a cornhole. Maybe we could get Roarin sonoran and some of the phoenix guys down.
They have winter ball up there?I want to take the family up there for the first home game this year. Any reccomendations for a family friendly hotel near the ballpark? A few years ago we stayed a little bit away from the stadium and it was a hassle the way they did the shuttle. It would be 6 of us. Kids 2,5,10,and 13.I want to spend the night and not have to worry about drivingI rarely make the two hour trip down to Tucson - just takes too much out of my day....but if you get up to NW valley - I go to Surprise Stadium every day and often to Peoria or Maryvale, let me know.Another thing we might be able to do - would probably be hard for everyone to schedule - but the Dodgers will play a few "home" spring training games in Phoenix - at the Oakland facility. I'll be hitting the Cubs/Sox game as well. We'll be down the week of 3/12 - 3/19 and seeing a game everyday...ah, can't beat fun at the old ballpark!Got tickets to Cubs/Sox. May hit up another game or two this spring. Will probably go to a couple games of Dbacks/Cubs in the regular season. Spring training is the best time to watch baseball IMO and can't wait.
After years of seeing the games just from the seats, we broke down and got lawn seats to one of the games...so we're sure to see rain at least that one day.Awesome I got my ticket for the first game. 5 rows up from homeplate. I love playing hookie from work to drink beer and watch the first game.
Not sure which team(s) or park you are referencing......BUT1st game in Surprise is Wednesday, February 27 (KC vs TEX)2nd game is Friday, February 29 (LAA vs TEX)Across the parking lot (free by the way) is a brand new Holiday Inn Express. They are not open yet, but will be well before spring training. It is on Bullard Ave - same street as the ballpark (make sure you get phone # for the right one)Across the street from the ballpark are several parts of Surprise Recreation Facilities including a pool, and the Heard Museum West is a short walk east, so there should be something for everyone within a short walk.I want to take the family up there for the first home game this year. I live about 2 miles north of the downtown area/Chase. The Hyatt is walking distance but is more business type (it is walking distance). Springhill Suites is also a nice one. (couple blocks from the stadium). There's also a Wyndham that's supposed to be nice (don't know anyone that's stayed there, couple blocks from stadium). Personally unless being within walking distance is a must. I'd stay somewhere a little outside downtown Phoenix. (Shuttles can be a hassle. I'd grab a cab). Couple I have stayed at are the Crown Plaza and the Marriott (both about 2 miles directly east of the stadium). Both located around 44th street. Short cab/van ride. I've stayed at both and both were pretty nice.I'd just do a google search of downtown phoenix and hotels. They have winter ball up there?I want to take the family up there for the first home game this year. That place is like sitting in a BBQ, I won't miss it much. I'll be happy when the new stadium goes up.Just got my tickets today for the final game at Al Lang in St. Pete. Been going to games there since I was 5. Going to be a little sad to know it's gone, actually.
Chances of that stadium going up are slim. More than likely, it'll be more unnecessary condos. That place is like sitting in a BBQ, I won't miss it much.
