SS Landry v. SS Landry (1 Viewer)

I wasn't sure how the FF Experts viewed LaRon Landry and Dawan Landry.

Everything I have read on this site points to LaRon having a potential super season with Dawan struggling slightly but starting.

Then I looked at the IDP Projections and see that Dawan has an ever so slight edge.

I personally think LaRon will be a stud and that the FBG Projections for Dawan are way too high, but I was wondering if anyone else expects Dawan to finish with a better season than LaRon?

I would guess the fact big brother did it for a year and with decent results and very high praise from the staff, gives him an edge with conservative projectors. We pretty much know exactly what to expect from Dawan. LaRon hasn't done anything yet, he plays with Sean Taylor who is far from a typical FS, so some will proceed with caution.LaRon is better than his big brother. His big brother is better than most think. That makes LaRon really good. Jene also thinks Dawan is way too high. I think he's a nice pick up late in a draft. He's the kind of SS who can keep it within a point or so weekly of the guys who were drafted 10 rounds sooner. LaRon will probably be a stud IDP very quickly.

I don't know about way too high. Depends on what you're looking for out of this ridiculously large DB2-DB3 tier (IMO) this year. Do you want/need a guy with 75++ solo tackle potential with some big play potential (LaRon) or a guy who might struggle to reach 65 solo tackles and very good big play potential (Dawan)?I've got Dawan at 31, which isn't out of line with the collective #26 ranking currently, and that's only because I can't convince myself he can improve his tackle stats, not because I don't like him as an NFL talent. He looked better in the second half of 2006 but had fewer solos. The loss of Adalius Thomas will throw some tackles his way, but I don't believe it'll be enough to make a meaningful impact in the boxscore.

ontherocks, you are creeping me out with that avatar.

I got D Landry in Dynasty League. I hear very good things about his possible impact in '07.

Why not get both? Very nice DB pairing, and it allows you to grab stud LBs while other folks grab high end DBs.

Dawan Landry only had 49 solo's last year. I can see him getting 55-60 this year, as he knows the game better. He projects as a low DB2/high DB3 to me. It's a really big tier. That's the thing about rankings...I could literally move a bunch of players up or down 10 spots, maybe more, without blinking. I have Dawan 23rd right now, but could see him being anywhere from the high teens to the low 30's.

LaRon is going to be a beast in my opinion. He has the kind of rare talent that should see him a permanent fixture in the top 10, and likely will have some years being the #1 DB in the future.
