Someone with more aptitude for the Boards is going to want to follow my post up with a 'REAL' Opening Thread with all the cool links and colors like everyone else.

I just know how to type, click smilies, and find prOn...you might say the board mechanics p\/\/n3d me...when it comes to these things, I'm pretty much a lummox

...but I AM a hopeless Contrarian who likes to swim against the stream, especially when it comes to things like this, so...

Damn...should have given that first pick to someone who would have appreciated it.

I work 7AM-4:00PM EST with limited internet time so please be a little patient. I have a direct number however at work if this becomes any type of issue. I will try and check in every 3-4 hours but again please don't get grumpy if things slow down just a bit.

I have ESG's pick for 1.04. I will try to check as much as possible today, but at the worst I will check in at lunch

Looks like we are still on the 1.02. Not being pushy, rules state 8 hours.

This is going to take 3 weeks, no matter how we slice it. I do propose if there is anytime we can all get together over the weekend for an hour or so...even if we have to take down phone numbers, that could really speed things along if everyone is up for something like that.

Rules state 8 hours, clock off from 12:00 AM EDT - 8:00 AM EDT. I think 1.02 is 2 hrs in.I'm game for some weekend time, evening is probably best for me ( lots of kid stuff on the weekend days )

 I've got 2 little kids myself, so locking down weekend time can sometimes be a challenge - but I'm open to trying. That said, as long as everyone is engaged in the draft, I don't really care if it's slow. I've been part of some of the fastest and (more often) slowest drafts on here in recent history. They all got done. My top suggestions - 1) After you pick, send a PM to the next guy, and the one on deck. Most often I send PM's to the next 3 guys after I pick. Since I've already made my choice, those folks can easily hit me back with a short list if need be. During work hours, I'm online 90% of the time. 2) If you know you're not going to be around for a while, have a list ready and if you can send it someone ahead of time. 3) If people are taking their whole clock, don't freak out. It doesn't help. Ever.

With 16 people this will never happen. Encourage PMs and be considerate of your fellow drafters. I reserve the right to change the clock if it starts looking like we'll exceed 3 weeks. One of these last 6 weeks last year and I won't let that happen again.

"Could you describe the ruckus, sir?"

After how long this took to get rolling, I can't even imagine the mess in teamramrods PM Inbox right about now...

1.02 switz - Ladainian Tomlinson, RB, SD

Just edited this to clean up the entire RoadWarriors quote... no need for it

I just realized BF and I are right behind each other...this is going to be rough. And I say that only because in a lot of leagues where I play dynasty/redraft/survivor, usually I get sandwiched next to Jeff Pasquino and we can't get out of each other's way to save our lives. I just have a funny feeling that BF and I will have some very similar picks when it comes time.

This is just going to be fun being in a draft with some of you guys

The best thing Switz, is when you get to your redrafts in the fall, you can sleepwalk thru them because you have already seen them in here, competed draftwise with some of the better posters(I'm not on that list btw) and you go from 16 teams down to 10-12 in a lot of those leagues so you have a huge advantage and are basically on point by the time June/July rolls around. Andanother plus is it costs you zilch to compete in these Surivivor leagues and you never have to manage the roster.

It will be a fun exercise. I'm in dynasty league's only - so doing a draft like this is really really different for me.

RB Frank Gore, San Francisco 49ers

PPR + Martz = :lmao:

PM'd the next 3 guys.

I am here, sorry for the earlier delay. After being here all weekend and Monday and Tuesday waiting for the draft to start, i got caught up in the Tiger game and didn't check in yesterday.

Peace.

 When my 20 rd 12 teamers start in August I can't decide between all the talent left on the board. Years ago I was trying to find someone I remotely recognized on a depth chart.Although it's pretty embarrassing watching games with friends and knowing who the 3rd string RB on the Dolphins is.

1.11 Reggie Bush, RB New Orleans Saints

I will go over the who, what, when, where, and why in the commentary section after I get past the 2nd/3rd round. I'll PM the next person.

Why not just get to it now?"I saw Bass draft Bush in SSL2 at 1.9 so he must be the SOD at 1.11" - MOP
