STAFFORD TO START ! (1 Viewer)

Wow...

<inserts Kevin Smith into lineup>

...last 5 Turkey days have been blowouts. An inspired Lions performance against a banged up Pack?

Seems unlikely, but any given Thursday...

that kid has guts i`ll give him that...one hard sack and that could be it for the game...hate to rely on him or calvin...staying away

well there is no way calvin sit's unless he wants to get DRILLED in the media.
That may be true, but I'm not sure how fair that'd be.Wouldn't a leg injury for a WR be more difficult to play with than a non-throwing shoulder injury to a QB? I'm surprised that Detroit would let either of their 2 franchise cornerstones play. Stafford has some guts.

Wonder how much cortisone they're pumping into Matt's shoulder before the game? I'll give him props for having guts. I wonder if it's the smartest thing to do though?

If Calvin's a go(and it appears he is) this bodes much better for him than having Daunte chucking it, that's for sure.

I love Stafford's cajones and the miked up video was very impressive but this is a real bad idea letting him play IMO.

A good heavy cortisone injection and a couple of 2 mg Dilaudid pills he shouldn't be feeling much pain. Probably have to do the Carson Palmer thing, handing off to the rb's with his right hand. As said though, one good hit and slammed to the carpet would make all that prep for naught. Could happen early, could happen late, might not happen at all. Still, I think it's unwise for the Lion's orginization to put Stafford in a position to risk further damage to his shoulder. If he plays you know the Packers are gonna be gunning for him on every play 'til they accomplish their mission. Very stupid move on the part of the Lions, whether Stafford feels he can play or not. Of course maybe the degree of seperation wasn't very bad but why risk it.

Anybody with less than stellar QB matchups have the stones to start Stafford?
No, but I've got a less-than-stellar TE matchup and now I'm thinking about putting Pettigrew in there.
Just picked up Petti and sitting Celeck this week....Petti will be a top 5 TE this week.
Possibly...depends how GB covers him.If Harris was not out, Pettigrew likely would not get too much as they could put Woodson on him. Without Harris though I don't think they will try such a thing and leave CJ to Tramon Williams.

word on rotoworld is CJ is starting too

Calvin Johnson and Matthew Stafford are both in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against Green Bay.

Both players appeared likely to sit this one out after missing practice all week. Stafford was even listed as doubtful on the injury report. Get Johnson into fantasy lineups immediately. While the Packers' pass rushers will probably gun for Stafford's dislocated left arm, he gives Johnson a much better chance for a big fantasy day than Daunte Culpepper ever could have. Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford, who injured his non-throwing shoulder in last week’s wild win over the Cleveland Browns, will start Thursday against the Packers, reports NFL Network’s Michael Lombardi.

Lions WR Calvin Johnson, who was listed as questionable throughout the week, is active and will also play Thursday.

CJ and K. smith in over J. Charles and S. Moss....GB D out and Cinci D in......hope this doesn't start my Thanksgiving out horribly wrong

The Pack did well with Kampman out 2 weeks ago. Harris is a different matter. Williams is OK in coverage but they have a problem at the nickel. I wonder how Capers will adjust, keep Woodson at cover corner or turn him loose.
