I have 84. At level 6 HQ max is 90. I haven't upgraded my stuff all the way. Takes forever and almost everything costs 250k to go from 5 to 6. It's a slow build. Right now I have 4 turrets and a refinery upgrading. The four turrets were 2 days, 6 hours each. The refinery was like 2 days.

You need to pick a side, Empire or Rebels. You cannot switch.(HULK) said:
Use your crystals to buy another droid. Don't use them for other things. Try and do some of the offers for free crystals. Getting as many droids will help you the most. The max is 5.
Don't lower your shield early, use this time to gather credits and ally, the single player missions are the easiest way in the beginning.
Build a Research lab as soon as it is available, you can upgrade troops/vehicles without using a droid.

The allure of being at the forefront of this game is quickly losing out to the horribleness of the game overall. Defenses are almost pointless. A totally leveled up defense can still be easily crushed by even a pseudo leveled up offense at the same HQ level.
They need to do one of the following to make it even a little bit interesting:
1) Make defensive buildings a lot more powerful
2) Make offensive units a lot less powerful
3) Give out a lot more wall pieces, make them have much higher HP, and greatly extend the size of the shields
It's boring being successful on any raid I want to make and being crushed on defense without even a chance.
The latest attack on me I'm sharing now shows how dumb the whole thing is right now. Granted, I have 1 shield down now, but the guy used 2 speeder bikes that just plonked my shield down outside of the range of my defenses, then one TIE strike right in the middle of my base completely destroyed all my storages. Like 50k of each resource gone in a blink. And while you could argue that I shouldn't have all my storages all bunched together, the lack of walls and shield size makes that virtually impossible.

In my defensively setup, raids typically net around 50%. It takes amassive assault to get my base 100%.

I dont think many are medal pushing right now. Im happy with 20% if I take all the resources. The only thing I need to do is break a shield and a wall and let my scouts run crazy

Kicked off HQ6 for the Reb's last night. I still have plenty of lvl4 defense & collectors but #### it, defense is useless at this point and I can grab all the loot I need between collectors & raids.
If AI doesn't change this will probably be the last upgrade I do before I bail, it's still deplorable. I had a tank in a raid last night, last unit left on a raid, drawing fire from Empire HQ troops. The tank was targeting individual troops and making hay until it decided to randomly break off the attack to take out a section of wall during which time the remaining troopers dusted it. Well played, I laughed.

I've been doing ok against attacks. Most can only get half my resources. They get some more when I am upgrading a shield and some turrets at the same time.

When you join a squad members can donate troops to one another that can then be used as either defenders or additional attackers.

What about having an opening and making a funnel? Basically set up a murders row of turrets and watch the stupid AI step into the crossfire?

not many will fall for that. All I.look for in a raid is
1. Where the vaults are
2. How many shields are protecting them
3. How many rocket turrets surround it

The new AI will gravitate troops to openings, but you still need to get the attacker to deploy near it. I use a wall opening and set up my resources at the end of it. Opponents generally follow the attack.
Later people will use star command ships and that makes defense near impossible.

The AI tends to bunch things and the only way to effectively kill off repair droids are mortars. The AI on the other turrets won't target them well.

My interest was waning, but I have been playing once a day for about 5 minutes each time. Log on, collect resources, do 2 attacks, re-queue army to train, do a couple upgrades, then log off. I've been saving to upgrade my HQ over a number of days, finally get to 135k, start the upgrade, then I get "Command Failed" like I get just about every time I play this game. I log back on and all my alloy is spent, but my upgrade isn't started. :ragequit:
No idea how anyone is progressing in this game. I get "Command Failed" after about 33% of all battles which result in me losing all my army spent, and gaining 0 resources.

Knocking on wood but I've never had that happen, even in the early days when it was a true mess.

Well that sucks. I haven't had that happen for a while now. Next time, I would sure I did a fresh boot of the app before spending the alloy. That has to be beyond frustrating.

Check the squad every now & then. Sometimes it notifies you there is a new request in there, most times it doesn't. You'll see someone asking for troops, hit the DONATE button then give what you like, you can donate up to 4 troops.

Installed and synced on my phone. Ran 2 raids from work this AM. This will be good, now I can do updates as droids free up.
Did the donation, but it only let me donate 1 troop. Wanted to give more... maybe others donated?
What SHOULD we be donating? I've gotten 3 regular guys and 1 wookie. Obviously, it should be something good against the AT-Whatevers that attack our bases. What unit is best at fighting them?

Lately I've had my base attacked by like 19 of those dark soldier things and an ATAT or one of those black little walker things. Those dark soldiers can sustain so much punishment that throw enough of them at me and my defenses eventually get crushed. Plus the ATAT can take down my shield in a shot or two. Defense is the suxors.

This is why you need mortars. (Why am I helping the Rebels? ) The troops seem to clump together with the latest AI, so mortars take out those troops and the healers effectively.
If a base is loaded with mortars, I just skip, there are easier pickings out there.

Not really, no. Rockets and mortars will do the trick.
AT-MP hero I think. It goes after turrets. I rarely use it, but maybe I will try it out again.

OK, so since this is on Android now, I'm downloading it.
At what point do you pick Rebels or Imperials? It started me in the walkthrough, but I'm already getting order from Vader. Do I choose a side later on?

Made a point to upgrade everything to Level 4 before upgrading to HQ5, which took 4 days where I couldn't do anything else. Thinking of going ahead and going for HQ6 and then following up with upgrades after. Anyone at that level see issues with that? It's not like defenses matter and I upgrade my Research and Heroes first anyway.
