Star Wars Commander, like clash of clans with SW, now on android (1 Viewer)

Made a point to upgrade everything to Level 4 before upgrading to HQ5, which took 4 days where I couldn't do anything else. Thinking of going ahead and going for HQ6 and then following up with upgrades after. Anyone at that level see issues with that? It's not like defenses matter and I upgrade my Research and Heroes first anyway.
Yep, doing that right now. Kicked off HQ6 a few days ago, upgrading shields now, got tired of waiting around for 2 day upgrades on collectors and ran out of things to research so I'm upgrading my star command so I'll have a new toy to play with and research.

do it. Although I would upgrade shields fully first, or together since they only take 2 days
Agree. I'm glad I went a little early on this one. You won't find much difference in the attacks.

Things takes forever to get to 6 btw. I should be going to 7 in the next few days.

I'm a bloody genius. Upgraded the Star Command from 2 to 3 for...nothing. You have to upgrade to 4 to get a new toy. What was the other thing that was like that in this ####ed up game? The Hero Command? You had to upgrade to level 2 before you could actually get a hero or something like that?
 
Is there a special way to scout an opponent. I have been clicking the attack button and if I don't like the rewards or set up I click the button for 200 credits for next battle. Wondering if it counts this as a loss or not.

The research building. You have to upgrade it to L2 to start researching anything.

Nope, it doesn't count as a loss. It just costs you credits.

I just did Star Command 2 to 3 as well. Need to get to 4 for those Y-Wings, which look great. Anyways, your capacity and building hitpoints went up. Whoopdeedo!

You need to train a Hero imo. Han should be available @ level 1. Mine is level 4... and Chewie (once researched up to level 5) is an ABSOLUTE STUD on raids. He's amazing. I think Leia might be better though, definitely going to get to work on her at some point. I just don't want to upgrade my hero command as you can't use heroes while its upgrading. And that sucks.

Its definitely worth advancing through enemy bases if you don't like what you see. I do it a lot, searching for someone w/ over 50K combined resources to steal. Usually find one within the first 3 or 4. Money well spent imo.

Chewie is the man for our Hero's. Him, with 5 Wookie's & a couple of healers will pretty much wreck any base you go against until they fix the AI of the game to level the playing field.

I did notice I got an additional spot from the Star Command so I guess it wasn't all for naught. I raided last night, filled my coffers in about an hour and retired for the evening. There isn't much of a challenge to the game as it stands today.

The one thing I do like about the game is the army build time. Superfast, hope it stays that way.

 
I'm considering a new base layout. It would be something like this:

NW Corner: Droid Hut

NE Corner: HQ

SW Corner: Resource Generators (coins/metal making things)

SE Corner: Troop stuff (Hero Command, Star Command, Barracks, launch pads, etc)

Top Center: My vaults, all of my turrets, sheild generator (both maybe?), surrounded by walls. On the south end, a back and forth pathway that invading troops can run through while being shot by me.

The only thing I really care about is protecting my vaults. My HQ just gives out 1000/1000 if they take it, and if they do, I get a free 12 hour shield anyways. I'm thinking by massing what is important together behind all of my defenses, while leaving a path open that forces troops to take it, instead of shooting my walls, the dumb AI will force them to walk into my crossfire.

Two Questions:
1) Overlapping shields. Is this bad? Does a hit against 1 hit both? I read something about that somewhere.

2) Empire troops... do they need 2 squares to walk through for the bigger AT-AT and AT-ST, or can they go through a smaller path?

I have given up trying to figure it out. Ill wait until a little later to work on defense. For now, I can fill my 550,000 vaults in an hour or two by going on scout missions with an occasional vet or atat thrown in

Its like sub 200 all over again

Depends on where the vaults are. There are so many people who are clueless in base building that just leave all the resources wide open and protect the HQ. If I was medal pushing, I would have a different army but right now my sweet spot is

50 Scouts

1 ATAT

1 Vet ATST

1 Vet ATAT (just because it is built- never use)

I can typically go on 3-4 raids with that base army before having to rebuild

So if the collectors are well protected by shields do you deploy the regular ATAT? Then the scouts all at once to clean up? Do you avoid bases with mortars?

My right side is a little bit weak, but I figure that the combination of it being difficult to place troops on the edge plus my squad center defensive troops help lock it down. The 3 shields on all my storages makes it very difficult to penetrate. And by separating them a little bit, they can't just all be taken out with an airstrike either.

I think so. My level 6 walls now show 9000 health instead of 6000.

I also read the reward for the next campaign will be a tie bomber that takes out shields. That would be sweet.

Started the jump to HQ7 yesterday, have half my turrets left to do, but with 8 days I should get them done and most other items.

 
It almost makes me rage when those freaking imperial walkers blow up my defenses without even being fired on. My rocket launchers and mortars just sit there and get blown up. The defenses don't seem to react until the walkers are almost on top of them. I don't think there's an imperial vehicle with this type of advantage.

Probably using the dark side to confuse my troops...

 
The new Campaign has 56 missions so you better get attacking today if you want to clear them all. Really easy to start. In fact just to add some spice on mission #3 I used only 6 dark troopers and 3 scouts and cleared it in 59 seconds. Treat that as a challenge.

 
This campaign is pretty disappointing compared to the Main single player portion and the previous mission. Through 5 to 6 missions it's just attacking weak bases. No storyline or anything really.

Is there any reason to 3star these? It'd be less resource intensive to just drop 1 troop next to the HQ and have him destroy it for 1star. I assume its the same points? Going to test it out.

Doh, you don't get full points unless you get 3 stars.

I want that A-Wing so I'll do it, even though its completely tedius.

 
Hotfix 9/26/14

Campaign 2:
  • Changed mission 2 for Empire, where Empire players were given 5 level 3 TIE Advanced starships in mission 2 instead of 5 level 7 starships.
  • Fixed an issue where the newspaper image for Rebel players was not appearing.
  • Improved text to better clarify that the TIE Advanced and A-Wing are unlockable through Campaign 2.
  • Greatly increased the number of times that mission 56 can be repeated.
General:

  • Fixed an issue where turrets that were maxed out to level 7 were unable to be swapped.
  • Addressed multiple text issues.
  • Fixed an issue where turret sounds and fx were incorrectly playing.


 
They need to fix the revenge mode

This guy attacked me. I revenged him. Noticed the button was still there and proceeded to revenge him 11 times in a row. But it gets better, he then attacked me again two times. Wtf. I can still attack him but feel bad so I didn't

 
I've been giving everybody droids for defense. So they work pretty well? I'm trying to figure out what their advantage over Speeders might be.

It seems to be doing fairly well. The only times I'm losing resources is when I get a ton thrown at me. Even then they are having to resort to dropping multiple air strikes to actually get decent loot.

And I agree on those defense droids. Those things tear up attackers. They're super fast and they take nice direct lines. And deal a ton of damage to troops. I'm upgrading a vehicle barracks next just so I can unlock them and hand them out.

Agreed...it should be like CoC where you can only revenge once.

people have said that but ive had zero drop off. Im earning nicely and plan on saving for my hq7 build
 
That's weird. It was like someone turned off the faucet for me. Now I have to hit next 30 times to find one guy with nice resources and he will for sure require a full army strike from me if I want them all

Weird. I'm having the same problem as Sky. I browsed probably 100 bases today and had 4 with over 15k credits and 15k alloy.
I seemed to have that problem as well before. I'm close to finished upgrading everything to 6 and it has been much better.

 
I posted this in chat, but I made close to 500,000 in alloy last night

Enough to hit the hq7 switch.

Now I just hope to earn enough to get most of my defense to 6 by the time 8 days is.up

They really need to do something to counter airstrikes. Once shields are down, boom, any air force has its way for both ends. Need an air defense

 
Been hitting the campaign today. 24 was the first mission I needed anything besides my vet atst and a handful of scouts.

Like this one much better but it takes forever. Im on 28 and it just hit 300 points for a win

They get pretty tough. You are going to have to start using air strikes in the 30s

No. I'm somewhere in the 40s. Have to mix in a lot if attacks for enough gold.

 
I'm in the mid 30s of the campaign and I've reached a point where my max land army is not enough to win all the time. And the idea of using multiple air strikes is sounding crazy to me. If I have 20 more missions to go and each one is going to cost me 25k plus gold that means 500k in gold just for making my army.

 
I'm up to Mission #44. I 3 starred all up to 32 except #24, then 2 starred the rest mostly except for a few 3 stars.

I'm over 9,000 points, so with 12 left, if I 2 star them all and they are worth 300 (Not sure) then that gives me another 2200-2400 points. The last one is supposed to be repeatable many times, so I'll likely go that route. I quit them for a while to build up my coffers, lots of good loot lately, especially for alloy.

 
Regarding medals, how come sometimes my base will take like 30% damage and I'll lose metals, but other times it will take say 40% damage and I'll win metals? Also, I never win medals unless I get over 50% of the base when I raid.

Also, another rant about those freaking black ATATs. Two in a raid plus some support troops is enough to essentially decimate my base. They take out my shields in one burst and they blow up my launchers before I can even fire a shot. The rebel scum don't have anything near this overpowered.
