Start McNabb this week (1 Viewer)

Thx. Sidewinder. Now I really want to start. him. Even though he's yours now, having him for eleven seasons, I fear, may be clouding my objectivity. Though, I guess that is balanced by my alternative being the current Eagles QB.

This is a major FWIW, but if nothing else, it's worth mentioning.

McNabb's history in opening games has been pretty shocking. Highlights below.

2009: threw two, and ran one TD in just over a half of work, before leaving the game.

2008: 361 and 3.

2006: 314 and 3.

2004: 330 and 4.

2002: 212 yards and 3.

2001: 312 and 2.

That said, I'm still very nervous. My breakdown of McNabb's week one prospects are here:

They are pretty shocking when you remove the ones that aren't so shocking.

I see both offenses struggling. A 17-14 game would not surprise me. There are some bad o-line matchups on both sides. Expect this to be an ugly game.
Ridge nailed it.Especially a rookie LT going against Ware.I wouldn't expect big numbers from either QB.

McNabb WAS a top 10 QB. Those days are long gone. He cant stay healthy.
No doubt about it. The last time he was among the top-10 scorers in one standard-scoring league I checked was ... 2009. And that was with 2 games missed (where you could start your backup, and add to the season total). Washed up, I say.

In addition to coach and player quotes, I've heard or read no reports indicating that McNabb is limping or anything. It's been about three weeks since he sprained his ankle. I'm assuming he's fine. :lmao:
Thanks for complicating things for me. :lmao: (Ironically my other QB is Kolb) Does a high ankle sprain really heal that quickly?
I'm in the same boat, and I don't like Kolb's matchup against GB.

I think McNabb will be fine and get his as the year goes on, receivers in Philly were just as bad but I'm a little gun shy week 1 with the injury and very little work in the new system.

So I'm starting Young over McNabb

you still have time. mcnabb is gonna smash on cowgirls tomorrow.
ok, your opinion is thrown out on the basis that anytime someone refers to the Cowboys as the "cowgirls", you are just hatin, and dont really have any real insight.
of course i have no more insight, i am waiting for the game now and am anxious for the McNabb to make my prediction come true. dont be insulted that i called your team cowgirls. its no big deal and at this point Im just bumping the thread.

it could have been a good thread if he had actually laid out some reasons why mcnabb would surprise everyone with such a day.

unfortunately it was just a ridiculous and silly opinion with absolutely nothing to back it up and now he looks bad.

threads like this should not be encouraged.
