Starting 2 WRs from same team vs bad defenses - thoughts? (1 Viewer)

Just as the title suggests...If you have 2 very good wrs and they are up against, Dallas or Washington or another bad defense, do you start both of them?

Think Jordy and Cobb.

K. wright and hunter

garcon & djax.

I've always struggled with this. I don't see any reason technically not to do it, though. Maybe I'm missing something.

Hunter and wright for example...they play Dallas at home this week. These guys both should have great games. If you only had one of them that means another team in your league would have the other and that team would be starting him. So, if you have both, why not start both in a plus match-up?

Do others shy away from doing this? If so, why?

I only shy away if the passing game is unlikely to score multiple TDs that week.
Right, that's what I'm thinking...but against a team with a bad defense and a good offense...looks like a shootout with good matchups for both WRs...I say put your foot on the gas and start both those bad boys...

Is there some kind of statistical analysis out there that shows that when you do that your team is more inconsistent in it's scoring?

I have always looked at it as start them both and if one has a bad game the other is usually having a monster game that will make up for the below average game

I mean, look at what each pair of WRs you listed did last week even. Hell, Jordy and Cobb were going up against SEA. If your team make up dictates that you start both than you do it. Technically, you're opening yourself up to more systematic risk if their offenses fall absolutely flat on their faces but I believe that to be rare.
