I know Dallas has very good skill positions, but they have an incredibility young OL and 4 kickers in camp. My thought is that even once thre is a winner he will be on short rope. Not the place to look for this is my kicker outside of the bye, but is a place to look for the guy after you put your guy on waivers because it is the bye week.
Many are expecting big (or at least very good) things from the Dallas offense this season - with Romo, Austin, Dez, Whitten and Felix, they certainly have weapons. Good offense typicially means good kicker numbers. While Dallas is currently carrying 4 kickers, most teams choose 1 and stick with him for the season (unless he gets hurt or is awful). Dallas' recent history is the same - they kept Buehler as the kicker all last season, Nick Folk the season before that. Most teams don't let "kicker battles" continue after cut-downs - they don't have the roster space to bring multiple players like that during the regular season.Another point is that Dallas plays in a dome. In my league, we have to roster 2 kickers - I ALWAYS make sure one of them kicks in a dome or in warm-weather cities (domes are more reliable though). Come fantasy playoff time, I don't want to start a kicker that's kicking in a blizzard, a monsoon or in high winds. Dome kickers also tend to attempt further field goals (for those who get bonuses at additional length). Once Dallas decides on a kicker, whoever it is has the potential to be a solid option. The thought of grabbing a kicker off waivers to start the season may not please many, but the Dallas kicker may be worth it.
